What is YOUR most LOL moment in Sam&Max S1 or S2? [Archive]

*SPOILERS obviously...*

Mine was clearly the part where the c.o.p.s are hyping the car horn, bluster says OMFG i want one... and then when max asks how to get one, the machine says : It is not for sale. And then Bluster Blaster yells DENIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIED. I laughed for a long while after that, wich is not something i tend to do that often ( wich is why i treasure Telltale ). This took place in S2 E2

Honorable mantions(sp).

* Clicking on bosco after he pass out/die * and getting Sam to say: The horror of time traveling mariachi's was too much for Bosco to bare. That's gold right there lol. Especially when i invited my gf at a mexican restaurant once, and there were real Mariachi's and they sang to her happy birthday for real. S2E5

* Seeing Sam and Max coming back from the elevator after directing them at random useless spots in S2E5

* In S1E2, when you click on the sulfuric acid and it says : You have to be carefull about the dosage, it can easily overwhelm the other ingredients. LOL.

* The War song and pretty much entire episode S1E4

There are so many it's impossible to find them all, but those holds a sweet spot in my weird mind.:)

I'm a little split, because I just discovered a new one:
My biggest one was sawing Hugh Bliss's head off, and Max's reaction, at the end of S1.

The new one, I was wondering around the Oval Office and the hint system kicked in and Max said "You know Sam, young you really screwed up on the AI for Bluster Blaster, We should go kidnap Haley Joel Osment and shove him in there!". For some reason I couldn't stop laughing at that, and I wound up sore afterward.

Still, asking for one all time favorite is like trying to pick your favorite child, it really only counts when your old enough to be stuffed in a retirement home.

I never played Sam and Max, but I've scene this before.

Where Sam and Max is "hypnotized" and Sam "shoots" Max. And max says

NO why me and just 2 days to retirement. (bad guy treis to talk) Cowards die 1000 times but heros die just once. Except when your playing video games inwhich they die alot to. (bad guy tries to talk) (max interupts) So cold why is it soo cold. The bad guy (whatever his name is remember I'm waiting for The Wii version.) talks a lot and gets interupted alot. It always cracks me up. I saw it off Youtube.
Another favorite scene is when the debate in Abe Lincoln must die and Abe talks everything bad because you cheated.

I have to say In episode 104 when you can"warm the crowd up with a joke". Me and my family couldn't stop laughing.
Then there's the one billion dollar snot in episode 105

The card dealer responding "Wanna play cards" to anything you say to him in episode 103.

The NOMAFIA song is just brilliant.

Little Timmy talking about a #$%îng Christmas Miracle.

Sam, pointing at the Robot's foot: "Holy knuckle cracking kringles on a freight train full of ketchup covered cheese logs!!!" (or something) and Max responding "it does NOT say that!".

Both in episode 201.

There's lots more great stuff but these come to mind right now.

The first time the War Song played in Abe Lincoln Must Die, totally didn't see that coming.

The pile of cartrages in the sewer in What's New Beelzebub, because I remember reading about the Packman & ET fiascos in Video Game History 101.

My memory is too bogged down with memories of games I've played more recently & early 90s nostalgia to remember the funniest things in each episode. Oh well, that raises the playback value.

Now that this thread is resurrected, here's mine.

For me, the two most memorable moments were:
- When Sam reanimated the Maimtron-9000 in S2E5
- The War Song when the #@#% Poppers declared war in S1E4

In both cases, I was so petrified, I was unable to even laugh. Wow! :D

But let me sidetrack here a bit. While I appreciate these great laughing moments, I think the best thing about the humour in the Sam & Max series is that it's nearly constant. Every other line our action provides us with something to laugh or at least smile at, be it a small joke ("Time out for number... two!"), funny conversation ("- Beat it, deadbeat! - It's a free country, pal."), or simply clever use of language ("I'm sorry, little buddy-in-chief").
I applaud the writers of the series for pulling it off, episode after episode!

From the beginning of 203 when Max says the holy water is making him have a vision.

Sam: You're just jealous of my more plausible centre of gravity.

Just about every interaction Sam has with Demon Peepers, but especially this part:
Sam: You've got to come in here, little buddy! It's the most horrible thing ever!
Max: Sounds fun, Sam, but I'm too big to fit in the hole.
Peepers: Hey Sam! Listen to this, it's funny: That's what she said!
Sam: Argh! Get me out of here!

And also this:
Peepers: We've been pals since we were little! We used to take baths together!
Sam: (Disgusted noises, shudders)

Sam: Wouldn't you rather grow up to be as cool as I am, with a boss car, and a detective job, and a huge gun?
Young Sam: Hmm. Would I have to get as fat as you too?
(Sam pulls out his gun)
AI: Catastrophic temporal anomaly detected.

Season Two:

Max kicking Jimmy out of the screen just after saving his life to retrieve the boxing glove in 201. Timing was so perfect in that gag...

Here is one i remembered by replaying s1e4, by komrad Boscovorski, wich rang a loud bell because i work in such a place:

Sam: We want to buy something.
Bosco: Ah, yes. Evil but necessary private enterprise.

It made me LAWL for a long time, and i bring that quote along in my everyday life. lol. It's awesome. Keep em coming! I'm begining to notice that the serie as a lot of replay value. In a few months i will surely replay season 1 and 2 back to back, after i am done with season 3 of course:P

I laughed at the reference to Tron with the C.O.P.S. whenever you leave conversation with them in 105 and 106, with Curt going "END OF LINE." I feel like such a nerd right now.

When you're in Reality 2.0 and it's all blank and you try to use the sword on Max. I don't remember the entire conversation, but it was pretty funny.

Or whenever Sam gets hit in the head by B-TADS. I don't know how many times I tried to make Sam walk out with something or pull out his gun. XD

Laughed pretty hard when I used the George Washington nutcracker before and after Max becomes president. Max's reaction was great. XD
Sam: Hi, I'm George Washington. Anyone need their nuts cracked?

I just finished playing 201, and I laughed at what Max said as you put down the third Horseman of the Apocalypse action figure. I forgot what he said exactly, but this is as close as I can remember.

Max: I can't wait until we excorsise (sp?) that b*****d and put the video up on YouTube.

I also laughed at the excessive use of censors on pretty much all of Timmy Two-Teeth's lines.

When you're in Reality 2.0 and it's all blank and you try to use the sword on Max. I don't remember the entire conversation, but it was pretty funny.

I just finished playing 204, and that episode was really amusing!

I liked the part when Max is flirting with Momma Bosco.

Max: Did it just get freaky sexy in here or is that just you?

And when you talk to the ship's computer when the ship's about to self-destruct.

Sam: How are we going to get out of here?
Computer: In thousands of tiny bits, most likely.

Oh! And I laughed for several minutes after their past selves jacked their time-machine.

Max: You... JERKS!
Sam: You made us go through the past year and a half all over again!

I laughed at the backstories of the Soda Poppers in 101, especially the one about Peepers.

TV Voiceover: Peeper's high-pitched, squeaky voice actually drove a few of his coworkers into alcoholism. And after his gig as an actor, he got a job as a middle school PE coach, but was fired after his catchphrase, "I can see you", went the wrong way in the girl's locker room.

I know one part I really liked, but not because it was funny, just because it was so unexpected. My mouth was just OPEN when Sam let Max answer the phone in 205. That was not something I had been prepared for.

Also, if you click on the "Hell Efficiency Level" after you wreck the place, Sam giggles like a little girl and says, "We broke Hell!"
I was spoiled for the phone thing, and when I first played the game, it wouldn't run properly with the sound effects on so I didn't even hear it ring, but Sam acting like a five-year-old makes me laugh every time. I love the bit where Sam goes to Hell so much that I have a saved game right before it so I can play it whenever I want, and I always click on Hell's efficiency metre before I go outside.

This is why we can't have nice afterlives.

The whole punching bag line from 202 is

Sam: I'd hoped that after getting a punching bag for the office, Max would stop hitting me all the time.
Max: But that's how I show affection!
Sam: Well could you stop loving me so much before 6 am?
Max: No way, Sam! I could never stop loving you!

Which is hilarious. But Sam also shows affection by hitting. Or manly awkwardness towards the concept of affection, I'm not sure. There's this part from the comics.
Max: Where to now, Sam?!
Sam: Thought we'd (do everything Sam wouldn't let Max do earlier in the story)
Max: You're my best friend, Sam.
Sam: Aw, you're gonna make me cry or slap your face or something, little pal.

I think Sam's more sane in the Telltale games than he is in the comics.

That's probably true, with 204 being the exception when they go to the future. Sam does seem more self-concious in the games as well, as he is always talking about dieting and watching his weight. Perhaps Max teasing him all the time had something to do with it.

In the games he kind of acts like he's trying to be normal and not quite succeeding. His social skills seem a lot better, but that could just be because he holds longer conversations than usual.
