W&G purple pansies bug (spoilers)

Not sure if this is a bug, but I put the purple pansies that fell from the windowsill into the honey machine. However, I read in the walkthrough you have to "use the potted pansies on the pansies in Felicity's yard". Is there anywhere else to get some purple pansies, or has this been a gameplay oversight?

There should be some more purple pansies in the place you got the first one. Mrs. Gabberly does have a lot of them as she says.
