basically name a game or more that you are currently playing (or have been recently) and say what you think of it.
Prince of Persia (newest): It is OK, not as good as the last 3, the removal of death as a deterrent is irritating, I wish they had not done it, it seems like a way to appeal to "casuals". I think the combat is dry and repetitive also.
Smash Bros:brawl: Overall an excellent game, however a lot of the mechanics from melee worked better in my opinion
Halo Wars: the best RTS I have played on a console, over simplified compared to PC ones, although that is to be expected. It is a pity Ensemble don't exist anymore

Nabbed a Guitar Hero: Aerosmith + X-Plorer Guitar bundle for a measly $30 today. :D So I've been playing that.
It's an okay GH game, albeit much shorter and easier than the others. I'm a bit disappointed that very few of my favorite Aerosmith songs are on it. (Dude Looks Like A Lady, Don't Want To Miss A Thing, Jaded, Crazy... all missing from the game. Bah, humbug.)
But the main draw for me was the controller, with the disc as an added bonus, so it's all good. Can't complain since the game was technically free.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (seriously, the story's great and it's one of the only 3-d platformers I've ever been able to get the hang of, but like everyone says the combat sucks)
Dance Dance Revolution: Extreme (yeah, well, I like it so whatever, plus it's good exercise who wouldn't want to dance to this? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VgUpo4dMcM))
Sonic the Hedgehog (found a plug and play to my TV with some Genesis games on it, so cool)
Wallace and Gromit: Fright of the Bumblebees (some of Gromit's facial expressions were priceless. Wallace being so awkward around Felicity was funny if striking a little close to home)

Farcry 2: an excellent game for what I have played of it but very hard to get into, I mean 2-4 hours in and you will start to get it. well worth it, the visuals are beautiful sunrises especially and night time is very nice too. Get it if you can.

After having just finished Sam & Max Season 1 for the Wii (epic), I've proceeded to Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. It seems like a major step back after the full-band, better-graphiced experience of Guitar Hero: World Tour, but I need to play through this thing at least once. Preferably on Expert, if possible.

Ar Tonelico II (currently on hold. Overall it's a decent game, but NIS could've done a way better job than what they gave us.),
Star Ocean First Departure (Short and Sweet. I'm loving this game, haven't put it down since I started. I'll have to play it again to get the alt. characters though)
Valkyria Chronicles (If you have a PS3 and you don't have this game go buy it. Right now. It's just that good. It's a must have in any PS3 library)

New Play Control! Pikmin, which is actually much better than what I expected. I had never played the original, although I did own Pikmin 2, and playing this game for the first time on the Wii is an incredible experience. Truly an experience only Nintendo could deliver.
This goes to show that games don't need to gory and death-ridden, simply entertaining.

Me i am currently playing Left 4 dead. Guys. It owns TF2, give it a try, it's total coop awesomeness and one of the top fps ever made. Made by Valve too :P
Also i am currently playing on PC 'Overclocked, a history of violence'
This is a point and click adventure game, but it's more psychological and serious than the more popular adventure games, also, i don't think anyone really paid attention to it, i discovered this just recently and picked it up dirt cheap at some random store :)

I've been watching a lot of HVGN lately, so I recently got a few new games.
Metal Storm: It's a lot of fun, and it's very entertaining. The controls are incredible, as are the graphics. It's a bit on the difficult side, though not too much.
Nightshade: Again, a lot of fun and it's very challenging. It reminds me of Telltale games, in the sense that it's a comedy point and click game. The menu system is a bit annoying, though.
Duck Tales: It really feels like playing an episode of the cartoon with all of the ridiculous settings and enemies and whatnot. It's a lot of fun, and the soundtrack is amazing.
Chip & Dale: Rescue Rangers: The levels are very linear, and the item-getting sound is horrible, but overall, it's a very entertaining and enjoyable experience.
Wild Guns: A very fast-paced shooter game, it's very enjoyable and has a great soundtrack. The costume-changing also reminds me of Smash Bros.

Got it on GoG.com (Good Old Games) for 6 bucks, well worth it. The game is still really fun today.

Rolando. It's a great game for the iPhone/iPod touch.
I got this to replace LocoRoco, because I don't have a PSP. I played the demo, loved it, then I got a iPod touch for my birthday. I found out about Rolando, got the app, and it really satisfied me. Quick point, on the original xbox the game did support custom soundtracks but with how it is implemented on the 360 it won't work with backwards compatibility, I do however love that game.
Finished Eternal Sonata. bah, it was ok. Prettiest game I've ever played though, but I'm starting to get tired of the whole J-RPG thing. I guess I've played way too many of them and they are all basically the same. I'll have to be more selective!

Well, at least we know you mean it now :p
I've never really been that good at RPGs. I always go in with less than enough items (especially healing ones) and I'm usually stuck at boss battles doing little to nothing. Like when I was first playing Kingdom Hearts: CoM (my only KH game, and I'm going to have it stay that way), I kept frequently restarting my Game Boy because the level I was going through was too hard. So yeah.
Anyway, right now, I'm replaying Smash Bros. Brawl with my friends online to help them learn the ropes of the games. Most of the time, I win, so they change their character to the one I'm playing as for the next battle. This gets pretty annoying >_<
Y'know, this may be the longest post I've ever written.

I tried Chrono Trigger the other day, and forgive me when I say that I hated it.
Since when everyone has to like Chrono Trigger? I do like it, but I wouldn't exactly start throwing stones at people who don't. No big deal, unless you have 12-year-old friends who love Chrono Trigger and think you suck, because you don't.
As for me, I've been enjoying some AGS (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk) games lately. I finally got to finish Super Jazz Man (http://herculeaneffort.gregjazz.com/store/) made by Herculean Effort (http://herculeaneffort.com), guys responsible for Apprentice I and II. The game is kind of "short-ish", so once you know what to do, it's very easy to finish. First time around you'll get some decent puzzling out of it, though, and it is certainly worth your $8.95.
After Super Jazz Man, I felt like playing another adventure game and this time I chose Shifter's Box - Outside In (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/games.php?action=detail&id=1137). It's another AGS game, and it's completly free. It's centered around great puzzles, though. I can recommend it to anyone who likes puzzles, but if you're all about the story, you might find Shifter's Box largely unrewarding. But let me say this one more time: It's a great puzzler with some really nice graphics and soothing music.
Not too long ago I bought Odin Sphere for the PS2, but I haven't even had the chance to play it yet. I loved the artwork and got it, hoping I'll find some time, one day. Same goes to the new Prince of Persia, which also only got unwrapped and that was that.

Dead Space: Picked this up a while ago (was only £15), only just started it last night, really enjoying it so far, the lack of direct hud helps build atmosphere. I would recommend this to any gamer who is a fan of the survival horror genre (in particular resident evil 4). While it isn't the best game ever it goes to show how much EA have improved recently along with other recent titles such as mirrors edge and others.

XII is the newest in the core series, however with a PS2 you can get FFVII (PSone) usually considered the most classic most bar X or X2 are great. With a wii you can pick up skies of arcadia legends for gamecube which is my favourite Jrpg ever
of the games mentioned XII and X2 aren't properly turnbased, and skies is probably the easiest game.

If you're talking about is Dark Aurora move, all you do is break that move with a 0 card. That also goes with all his other moves, also a goofy, attack card sleight does wuite a bit of damage on him if you hit triangle at the right time during the sleight.

Same stradigy with Riku, break her sleights with zero cards. Also, sleight 3 fires together and use firga(i think thats what its called.) and finally use the Vexxen villan card at the beginning of the battle, it is really useful as it gives you half an extra life.

Lost Odyssey: I have been in the mood for a JRPG recently, and my preorder for Star Ocean: The Last Hope Limited Edition hasn't arrived yet. However I have this and never finished it. I am roughly 20 hours into it although my favourite part about the game has nothing to do with the main story line, by this I mean I absolutely love the short stories called Dreams, they are fanatasically written and amazingly scored, with these properties they can be (and usually are) very touching. Well worth getting hold of if you appreciate JRPGs and have a 360

Burnout Paradise: Utterly fantastic game, I tried the demo ages ago, when I did I just didn't like the feel of it and the amount of open space there was (in the same way the beginning of Far Cry 2 did). However I picked the demo up again due to hearing many good things about it, put some effort into it and enjoyed it, I picked up the ultimate box today for £20, which is a pretty good deal as the standard game retails for above £15. The open world system is fantastic and implemented more successfully than the one in Need for Speed Undercover. However it isn't a straight racer, it involves elements similar to platformers to gain 100% completion (launching from a series of ramps to break a billboard or make a super jump).
Star Ocean: The Last Hope: I really want to love this more than I seem to, I really like the combat, I don't mind the weird china doll like character design, there just seems to be something missing which I cannot put my finger on.

^ I hear that. I gave up months ago, told myself to just experience the ending via YouTube. The problem is, I still can't muster up the willpower to even watch it. Just thinking about the Meat Circus makes me want to ragequit whatever I'm doing at the moment.
Speaking of ragequit, I'm currently playing Silent Hill: Homecoming (PC version). I love the game so far, but it's WAY too easy to find yourself in a near impossible situation. All I'll say is: Schisms, Siams, and those blade-leg guys I can't remember the name of... RAAAGE! It's also annoying when a Nurse starts one of her stabby-combos and you can't escape. Then there's the glitches...

WOW
that's hard core. It's really enjoyable as a console game right up to that level. It pisses me off most because you are permitted and encouraged to explore everywhere on all the levels with just some little monsters to bug you. Then they throw that timed thing at you and suddenly you can't do anything else but chase after the little guy as fast as you can jump. And I normally like finding and collecting everything possible, but I can't even begin to imagine how you're supposed to do that in the Meat Circus.

Aye, I get frustrated easily with platformers. I just don't have that pixel-perfect on-the-fly coordination that the harder ones require. (It also makes it very hard for me to use sniper rifles in multiplayer shooters... I can take out a stationary target a pixel wide, but if it moves, I'm done for.)
An example of just how bad I am: I never beat the original Mario Bros., despite having played it since it came out. :o

Fallout withour violence is not fallout. The contrast between these happy 50ies comics and the crazy but happy people all over and the fact what happened their, now with all bunch of crazy, brutal people running around makes this game so unique.

Unfortunately, I have far more games laying around than time to actually play them... and I tend to play a little bit of this a night and a little bit of something else next time :o
Anyhow, I've actually played here and there in the last months:
- Shadow of the Colossus (PS2)
- Lego Indiana Jones (Wii)
- Braid (PC)
- Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)
- New Super Mario Bros (DS)
- Wild West Guns (Wii)
- Mario Kart Wii
- Wii Sports
- a few small indies on the PC: Little Wheel, Paper Moon...
I played Lego Indiana Jones yesterday evening (around 48%, if memory serves me) and killed the 12th colossus last sunday's night ;)
I've recently finished:
- World of Goo (PC)
- Wallace and Gromit first 3 episodes (PC)
I've pre-ordered:
- Tales of Monkey Island (PC) (of course :D)
- W&G last episode (PC)
- The Conduit (Wii) (in EU will be released on 10 July)
- Wii Sport Resorts
I'm a little disheartened by the reviews I read today of The Conduit, I was really hoping for a Quake-like experience, but while the controls are top-notch, the level design seems to be rather bland, *sigh* :(
I've also have laying around, barely touched at the moment:
- Metrod Prime 3 (Wii) (faaaar too easy, I need to restart it at difficult level)
- The Force Unleashed (Wii) (satisfying but also really cumbersome)
- Psychonauts (PS2) (... I know, I know :o )

Super Mario Sunshine (for GameCube, on Wii)
I love it! I played it too on the Wii... The GC gamepad is one of the best ever, very satisfying. In fact I found the experience as a whole far more satisfying than Super Mario Galaxy, at least for the moment (haven't finished them yet: and I played SMS far more than SMG.)

Escape From monkey island- it was definitely the worst of all the series but i did like the puzzles. the storyline contradicted past games and the controls sucked.
Prince of Persia- fun but not great again probably worst of the series although alot better that Escape. the backrounds were pretty cool.
Sam and Max Season- Very fun, funny and entertaining. The puzzles were fun but not too hard or too easy. i like all the character especially max. And i like the storyline. Probably my favorite of these three games.:)
Secret of Monkey islandjust started today and its been pretty awesome. just noticed the max costume in the costume shop

I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt that way... I was really nervous about Tales of Monkey Island, because I was so disappointed with Escape From Monkey Island.
I think the controls were the same as Grim Fandango, but for some reason they were really awful in EMI.

Right now I'm playing The Shivah, a really good dialogue based adventure game by Wadjet Eye Games (the same company that made the Blackwell series). Seems like it's very short and the puzzles so far have been really easy, but the writing is truly excellent and believable!

It's just as exhausting as the original title that came free, but well worth the price. I particularly like the sword play game that came with it, though I can live without the canoing game. I stink like month-old cabbage at the 3-point Challenge basketball game, however.

I decided to put Secret Files 2: Puritas Cordis on hiatus indefinitely. It is not good at all in my books, with nothing to offer other than pure inventory puzzle. The character isn't even memorable.
Decided instead to start Mata Hari 2 hours back, and WOW! I was so blown away by the background, the characters and the dialogues. Even the puzzle doesn't come across as old. The producer of Indiana Jones still have that kick in them!
Now, I'm just gonna try finishing it up soonish.

The costume shop would be rather in in LeChuck's Revenge, I guess, not in the first game.
BTW, in the old Secret of Monkey Island, is that Max in the picture in the Scumm Bar kitchen? Looks a bit like it.
(BTW, I thought the SE of the game we ok, but the original is much more playable with the verb interface close by...., and for me personally, the old graphics had a real feel-good effect to me, whereas the new ones looked a bit...je ne sais quoi, and the dialogue was not as I had imagined it for 20 years, lol, I guess I am too old for this :) )

I am currently playing 3 skulls of the toltecs, which is the prequel to the westerner (wanted: a wild western adventure), 3 skulls is the first in the Fenimore Fillmore series of games. You can find links here.
http://game-s-freak.blogspot.com/2007/11/free-download-3-skulls-of-toltecs.html
Download the 5 part rar, forget the other version. Mount the folder and run install from dosbox then run 3skulls.bat or you may not be able to get sound. Copy the english.pdi folder into the installed folder with 3skulls.bat for the next time you play, mount the installed folder next time you play.
Also I have been playing the Valhalla games. I used to love playing these on the Amiga. Get them from here and support the company. The first episode is free to try out.

I cracked out the old DS games recently (I bought the new green DS lite that came with a purse-thing and cooking trainer game. The irony of this amuses me greatly.)
I found myself playing "Battle of Giants: Dinosaurs" by Ubisoft. It was a gamble, I wasn't sure if it would be a good game or not.

On top of that they killed off the main character from the first game, ensuring no more sequels. Shadow Complex: A great game with the mechanics, the story itself is dreadful. I want the game to be brighter and more colourful, which generally doesn't happen in Unreal engine 3 games, unless you are Mirror's Edge.
Street Fighter IV: I still suck at fighting games, this is no exception. However with my recent purchase of a stick my game has noticeably improved.
Marvel VS Capcom 2: Been playing a lot of this with a friend who is into fighters. I am better at this than with SF4 but not yet god enough to play many other people. Again using a stick has definitely improved my game.
