Sam and Max Season 1 - Ep.1 Not launching

Hi,
I just bought both seasons 1 and 2 from steam this weekend. I've only installed season 1 episode 1 so far and it won't launch. I'm running Windows XP and the game just crashes on startup.

It just says "Sammax101.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close."

I've checked the usual things like making sure my video card and directx drivers are up to date but no change.

What can I do here?

Hey Rock,

Do you at least get past the wrapper stage and then the game crashes? Or do you not see anything Telltale related before the .exe shuts down on you?

Hi thanks for the reply but it's working now. Not sure what changed I just turned on my computer this morning and it started up with no problems. Hopefully it'll stay working.
