Only if Danny Delk returns to voice the character. I don't mind substitutes for other characters, but without Delk it isn't Murray; no-one else will ever be able to do him quite as well.

Well who ever has played Monkey island 4, knows that murray can make a less than desirable monkey island game move more smoothly . He was easily one the best parts of MI-4, as well as MI-3 which wasn't in need of saving, but Murray definately helped the games spirit . Fans of monkey island 1- 2 , whatever but most Monkey island fans have to admit that murray was a ,great character and I wouldn't mind seeing him in the fifth game. We can only anticipate that this game will take a little from every monkey island before it. Murray is a lasting character, a new additiion that I believe is now a tradition and if they break the tradition I'll be sad.

Yes, they are. I loved their interaction with Guybrush and I think they have a lot of potential to be developed further as characters.

I'm sure that Murray will return. He's become such a part of what Monkey Island is in the last two games, that even if he's just sitting on a shelf in the Voodoo Lady's hut, there will be some brilliant interactions with him.

Though maybe, with this being a five episode series, we'll get a whole episode focussing on something to do with him! How rad would that be?

You know, I actually hate Murray and never got why everyone loved him.

I'm curious, do people who love Murray start playing with CMI, as I've been playing since SoMI and so have most of my friends and we all don't get why Murray is so popular?

I played Monkey 1 and 2 first, and I really liked Murray. He was something which I don't think would have fit well in 1 or 2, but in the aesthetic of 3 he worked really well. I loved the bit where he and you team up to scare the gravedigger. Any time Guybrush can use the things around him to terrorize, insult, or otherwise ruin the lives of the people around him is a plus for me.

I never really liked him either, but Stan or Largo Le Grand for instance were an awesome figures.

what about murray being good? lets say we catch him on some resort island acting like a tourist guide, speaking about the attractions of the islands and so on.. he ignores guybrush claiming that they don't know each other because he is shy of not being evil, but later confess that its some kind of voodoo curse that turned him good and you go on a mission to help him and break it :p

:) Well murray does have that sort of captivating voice .I could see him narrating and tour guiding.

How can you not like Murray? You know, MI and MI2 were good, but since I was a kid of the late 90's, I thought MI3 and MI4 were the best! TMI is great, too! With MI 3 and 4, I remember thinking it was so cool that the characters talked! None of the others did that! It was amazing! Yes, I was very young when I played it. I still call MI 3 and 4 classic!

Murray was my favourite character in CMI, but I think they ruined him in EMI. They made him way too over the top and exagurated, and his speeches and rants were not nearly as good as the ones in CMI. If they decide to bring him back, wich I'm sure they will, I hope it'll be with a skilled set of writers. I also think the series should've managed to set the dark tone of MI2 and CMI before they throw Murray in there. If Murray returns it must be grand and epic. Maybe not epic for Murray himself, but within the context of something epic.
