Thank you for continuing my favorite game franchise, one which I never thought would live on past its 2000 release, and handling it with such care and respect for the originals and fans!

Seems like some people will just complain about anything because they like to hear themselves complain... the audio was low quality, the controls are bad, I hate the dialogue, Guybrush's goatee is weird, blah blah blah! It's all nitpicking!

What matters is... MONKEY ISLAND IS BACK!!!

I hope you guys at Telltale realize what a wonderful job you have done - to bring back a classic game series that I for one certainly farewelled the idea of ever seeing another incarnation.

Yeah its not bad for the first episodes, god knows alot of stuff can be improved and hopefully will :) be its a good start.

In July 1995 I spent a total of 20 hours sitting in front of a screen in my parent's attic, not able to focus on something else until LeChuck exploded in the final showdown of SoMI.
I was 14 years old then and you guys managed to make me feel nearly exactly the same again (except for it didnt take me 20 hours this time and perhaps I'm just not so easy to impress any more).
It really felt like Monkey Island. The best piece of adventure I played since...since...Grim Fandango I guess.

You guys are heroes to me ( I just wonder how it feels to work for all these years in this business and still to be so much linked to something, you started 20 years back...)

That.... was.... AWESOME! It was funny and compelling and I found myself thinking about the game when I wasn't even at my PC it certainly has re-kindled my love of Monkey Island and if my brother hasn't bought it already im going to buy it for him.

If the following episodes keep the high standard I will be amazed.

I was nervous after the trailer, but after playing the game for about 1 minute I had a big smile on my face.. The visual style was excellent! The 3D allowed for some sweeping cinematography and very impressive sight gags (mostly from Guybrush.. nailed a lot of of good facial expressions there). The voice acting was very well done, the timing of playing back the sound clips wasn't robotically timed. Puzzles were hard but not too hard! But most importantly, this is the only adventure game I've played in a long time where I've audibly laughed to myself multiple times while playing! I am SOO happy this game ended up being so over-all well done! I can't wait to play the next 4 bits! I kind of want to wait for them all to come out, and play one big Monkey Island game like the good old days... but I doubt I'll be able to hold myself back... :o) Thanks again Telltale!

I know one extra comment probably won't make much difference, but yes, thank you so much! I had just about given up all hope on ever seeing another MI game. I lent MI3 to my (now wife) when we first met and she was instantly hooked. I started them as they came out on the C=64 (oh, the memories). It was literally just the beginning of this year that my wife and I were last discussing our sadness that such a great series would probably never come back. I haven't finished yet but I am absolutely impressed. Due to having a yound child and an infant (not to mention work), we have very little time to play and I promised my wife I would not play without her so it's gonna take a while to finish but that's okay with us. We were both laughing out loud as we played last night. I haven't laughed with a video game that much since MI went away. The MI style of humor is spot on!

I truly wish you guys the best of luck with this (as well as Lucas Arts) and I hope that it is successful enough to keep it going for years to come. I hope LA will continue the series as well (in addition to the remake), but I'd still be a happy monkey even if they didn't so long as you do.

I really can't say enough. You've made a lot of people very happy and I hope you find lots of "new" fans as well.

Maybe this came up somewhere else, but I am curious how this all started. Did LA decide to do the remake first, or did you decide to do episodes? If anyone has a link on the backstory to how this came back I'd love to read it.

I guess i want to thank TTG for hammering LucasArts for giving them the franchise and make it happen but i also feel dissapointed by some of the shortcomings a Monkey Island in my opinion does not deserve, like the poor steering and the missing localisations, at least on a Wallace&Grommit level. In these respects the game feels rushed, which it doesn't deserve, considering the status this game has for adventure gamers.

I enjoyed every minute of the adventure, the humor is spot on and the puzzles are very well conceived and executed (I just hope difficulty will gradually increase over the next chapters).

Also the writing and voicing in my opinion is just great. I am one of the not so many italians who have a good grasp of English...This is because teaching a foreign language wasn't so much of a priority in our education system back then. It still isn't, but it's a bit better now.

I am 30 and I started loving and improving my English since I was 12 thanks to playing Maniac Mansion on the C64 back in the day. I used to play it with my joystick in one hand and my trusty dictionary in the other! If I hadn't had this love in computer gaming where would i be now?!

Anyway, my only reasons of concern with ToMI were some random crashes and graphical glitches apparently due to the game not liking my old Radeon 9600 Pro drivers...I had to revert back to an older release in order to play the game without major issues!

Yes, just wanted to add my 'hurrays' to this thread. I finished then episode this am and Telltale have done a very good job so far, I think. The LeSinge surgery puzzle was particularly good. My only problem is having to wait for the next instalment...
