ToMI DVD Pre-Order/Deluxe Confusion

So I pre-ordered the DVD ages ago. Like many. When it was promised we'd get the special edition cover for pre-ordering it back then.

I get my e-mail, "Oh, I thought I'd essentially paid for this already"

Fair enough, postage, I'll sail with that then.

"There's a deluxe edition and a 'normal' one?"

Then I get this e-mail:
Quote:

Just can't get enough? Perhaps you'd be interested in the Deluxe Edition, which includes:
  • The pre-order bonus Steve Purcell slipcover

So does this mean, since I only opted for the normal one I don't get my pre-order bonus? Also, this list only came out after I received the initial e-mail and have already ordered the original.

Anyone else confused as I am? Also it kinda makes it less exclusive since I pre-ordered it, ages ago and now anyone who gets the deluxe version grabs it (which y'know, is great for fans I guess).

Thanks for tolerating the post.

Pre-orders get the slipcover with their free DVD. Non pre-orders can get it through the $15 upgrade. Both pre-orders and non-pre-orders get it with the $15 upgrade, plus the extra stuff.

Also, to clarify, you weren't pre-ordering the DVD back then, you were pre-ordering the downloadable game, for which a free (plus the cost of shipping) DVD would be made available at the end of the season.

Ahhh, I get it. I appreciate you clearing that up for me. Great, cheers. =)

Where's my email?

OK, so I also pre-ordered the download with the promise of a nifty (showing my age here) DVD later. My son, who did likewise, has already gotten his email, but I haven't and I'm feeling all lonesome. How do I contact TTG about this?

Confused also

Hey guys, I would love to get my hands on the Deluxe edition, I purchased my TOMI chronicles off of Steam - am I still eligible for the $15 upgrade?

I did not receive an additional email, can anyone point me in the right direction for what I need to do?

Unfortunately, Steam purchases are not eligible for the $15 upgrade.

That is beat up :(

MI is one of my favorite games ever, because I got it from a different provider that is not fair I do not have the same upgrade options. I was expecting at least a DVD when it was released as it was promised . . .

This saddens me!

You don't need to receive the e-mail to qualify -- it's just a notice that you can pre-order the DVD. You should be able to log into your Telltale account, go to the store, add the DVD to your cart, and just pay shipping for it. Or, if you'd like to order the deluxe pack, add that and pay $15 plus shipping.

Also, check your spam folder -- it might have ended up there.

Hey Rick, so long as you pre-ordered the game, you should be able to get your DVD for shipping cost if you go to http://www.telltalegames.com/monkeyisland

Trag, unfortunately we can't offer the DVD or upgrades for purchases on Steam, as it's not our company and we don't have record of your purchase, among other reasons. Sorry for the inconvenience!

If either of you have any questions, contact support@telltalegames.com and we'll be able to help you out in-depth.

If I had known this I would have never gotten the game from Steam... I feel jipped.

I am very selective about which video game companies I give my money to, and I was glad to buy all 5 episodes of MI, having played since the very first one came on 8+ REAL floppy disks (thats the B: drive folks). As I said I would have went straight to Telltale to get my games had I known this was the case.

There a free item, a Sam & Max game in my "purchased items" on this website, which was a part of the TOMI series purchases I believe. Could this not be used to be proof I purchased the games?

I just emailed support, thank you for the suggestions guys.

it should be Ice Station Santa which was available to anybody that found the Sam & Max 2010 Page early enough.
I have their whole catalogue on Steam except for TOMI and well there is no way to get the DVDs for me unless I rebuy them all here (which I did for Strong Bad) I really want that STrong Bad-DVD)

????

What??????

We get it but we don't?

I mean I paid the price way before the first episode was out and now I don't get the Slipcase (which was promised in the mail I got here!) or anything else. A bit strange.

Also some pics of the stuff which should be worth 15 bucks should be made. Hope not to buy a pig in a poke here, too.

Are you *sure* there is no slipcase with your normal version (you know, because you pre-ordered)?
What does the $0.00 version tell you it is?

There's a logic confusion here. To clarify my view of it from what has been said:

Those who get the slipcase
  • Those who pre-ordered but just want the standard version
  • Those who buy the deluxe version
  • Those who pre-ordered and choose to buy the deluxe version
Those who do not get the slipcase
  • Those who buy the standard version and have not pre-ordered before the chapters were released
  • Those who ordered from and for any platform other than directly from Telltale Games for PC
