sam n max crashes after title screen
 

Sam n max ep 1 loads the telltale title screen then crashes :(
My specs:
Asus Laptop F3Ja
Intel core 2 duo 1.83 Ghz
ATI mobility radeon x1600
1GB RAM
Windows XP SP2 all patched and up to date
ATI catalyst drivers version 6.14 (the latest off asus website. ati website doesnt recognise my radeon)

deleting the props file didnt work either
neither did the latest omega drivers

Any ideas?
