Sam and Max Season 3 (Steam Windows 7) does not load
 

A month or so ago I bought all of Sam and Max Season 3 for PC via Steam. Since then I have tried to run each of the episodes several times from the Steam client (as recently as today), but I always run into the same crash at start up.

When I tell the game to play my screen will flickers to black (like my screen always does when it changes resolution to run a game), but then it will quickly flash back to my desktop with a windows crash window that reads:

SamMax301.exe has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

[Close program]

I have included my system specs in a .nfo file in my attachment. If there are any fixes or work-arounds for this I would greatly appreciate hearing about them.
