What Will Telltale Make Next?

Now that they are skyrocketing in popularity and franchise quality, what are some things that Telltale can tackle now? Here are some ideas of mine:

Maniac Mansion 3

Telltale has hinted at this before and with their renewed relationship with Lucasarts, it seems like the perfect time to do this. Got to finish the trinity of classic Lucasarts series: Sam and Max, Maniac Mansion, and Monkey Island. If anything I would love to buy the first two games again if they did special editions of them ala the first two Monkey Island games to tie into the prospective Telltale sequel.

Star Trek

I grew up playing Interplay's Star Trek 25th Anniversary and Judgment Rites. With Trek's new popularity, the Telltale brand of humor and story would fit well with the series.

Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy

The Guide's obtuse humor would fit Telltale like a glove. Plus they've already have had experience with British properties after making Wallace & Gromit. They should really pitch it to the Douglas Adams estate ASAP.

Twin Peaks

Well after Puzzle Agent this is a given. Love to see it done in Telltale style.

Other Lucasarts games

How would Loom 2 look done as a Telltale episodic series? How about Zak McCraken? Ya I'd like to see that too.

Well anyone else know what Telltale could do now?

Jurassic Park, obviously.

After that? People expect sequels. A sequel to ToMI would be nice. To Strong Bad, iunnoo, it was good but they used the best source materials of the franchise, a second season would be forced.

The suggestions you give, apart from some LucasArts ones, seem very unlikely (though it was unlikely for us to have a Telltale-made BTTF game either). But yeah I wouldn't hate a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy story coming from Telltale...

I'd really like a Penny Arcade game, in all it's vulgar glory just like the comic.

I'd like to see a new At The Inventory game. I don't care what genre or setting, I just like the idea of video game characters taking a break from their jobs as video game characters to hang out together. :)

Not targeting anyone here but just because somethings a comedy doesn't mean it's perfectly suited to their style. While I think TellTale is a good company I don't have unwarranted trust that they could do something like Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy or Monty Python.

I have to disagree about the Guide not being Telltale material. Sure Monty Python is way too out there to be done right in any game which is why all attempts had sucky products. But the Guide? Its definitely not as weird as Homestar Runner/Strong Bad so I have to say it can be done by TT. Ok, it is quite cerebral on different levels but I think they can handle that without much problem. I am a fan of that franchise and would love to see TT tackle it. Beat the crap out of the text adventure game and want more.

The thing about Hitchhikers is that it doesn't really lend itself to an all new story... Mainly because Douglas Adams is dead... It would have to be a complete adaptation. I think TTG works best when they are telling their own story.

Ya I was thinking of that too when I started writing it but the idea is too good to ignore IMHO. They could adapt the story with where the text adventure was going with some of the puzzles from that done in graphical form since many of them would work better in visual form anyway. But ya the story would be dang tricky to do.

ToMI2! plzoplz!

also, more At The Inventory, more Strong Bad, and maybe a whole season of Grickle related stuff.

Nintendo Boy1 01/04/2011 11:07 am

I like a full season of Puzzle agent, more At the inventory, and A SBCG4AP 2 would be nice and if they could pull out more stuff from it I'll be shocked.

Something for Fox TV and the Fox TV audience will tell them that it's too easy, maybe even G.W. Bush will post a rant, which for sure will be funny in his usual unwanted way. Subject M will come down with Alzheimer which will lead Grossman to new consolidated findings for a season 2 and make things even more ...

Open world game

IT WOULD TOTALLY, TOTALLY, TOTALLY BE AWESOME IF TELLTALE MADE AN OPEN WORLD GAME! I mean it makes games be more appealing to people when you have freedom in the game. They can keep puzzles in the game like all the rest, but to be 3D, to be able to look and move in all directions, at least at a location. The first game they already have I would suggest to be Sam and Max. The Devil's Playhouse totally made the game more fun. And missions like to catch a criminal while driving around the city or chasing him around the block. The point I'm saying is that I would like it to be with more action:cool: and not much just a liiiiiiiiiitle less brainsolving:confused:. That would be a HIT!

Game Dev Story 3D, a sort of collaboration between Telltale and Kairosoft. That totally should be their next project. Also the first Telltale game to be released with Japanese screen text.

You know the "brainsolving" stuff is pretty much the point of these games, right?

In fact, I think TDP had the least "Brainsolving" out of all of them, still fun though.

Sadly, so would I.

I'm all ready for TOMI2
New Puzzle Agent episode (or some other all original TT game) would be nice too.
