Tales of monkey island ep1 crash at the end of the prologue
 
hi,

i'm trying to play Tales of monkey island episode 1 but it crashes at the end of the prologue, i got the big sun, then... nothing : it freezes.
I have to kill the process and get back to windows.

i hadn't have any problem with sam & max.

can anyone help me?

Have you tried turning down the video settings?

i've just tried in 800x600 lowest quality and windowed, and it still crashes.

Can I take a look at your DXDiag?

Windows XP: Go to your start menu and click on run. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter
Windows Vista / 7: Press the windows key on your keyboard or click on the start menu. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter.

Now click on the button that says "save all information". It will prompt you to save a file. Since I cannot receive attachments, I'll need you to cut and paste the contents here.

Hi!

I don't know if this might help, but you can try it.

Start the game and after the intro where Guybrush is on the ship, start task manager.
Go to "processes", right click on the Tales of Monkey Island running file and select "set affinity".

You should see how many active processors are, um, processing. Deselect all except the first one (CPU 0).

Tell me if this helps you get further in the game. Don't worry, once you quit the game, it goes back to normal.

It could be a corrupt installer. ToMI Episode 1 and 2 didn't have a built in CRC Check yet.

You can try clearing your browser cache and redownloading and reinstalling the Episode.
