It's official

Lemme tell you, as a Playstation fan, I've been waiting for this game for years — especially after Super Smash Bros. was released.

Ripoff or not, this would be one helluva game!

It's a clever idea. I wish more game companies would do a companywide crossover game.

Speaking of which, where's my Inventory sequel? :p

Clunky name aside, I'm into this. I'll need to see more of a roster than what we've currently got though.

They got Sly Cooper so that at least rates it a rental for me. If they add Nathan Drake, I'll be getting it day one! :D

Aside from the obviously cruddy name, I'm excited for this. Have been since November 2011. I mean, most who actually use the Internet already knew Super Bot was making this Sony cross-over game.

EDIT: Also, it is a cruddy name. A good name must roll off your tongue. Super Smash Bros.? Goes in one smooth roll. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is not only a freaking long name, it contains too many syllables AND words. Shorten it and you get PSASBR, which is still too long. And it doesn't roll off your tongue as well. I mean, even Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! rolls better.

I have to say, having each stage represent a combination of two franchises is a really clever choice

How about PS AS Battle Royale.... PissAss Battle Royale? That flows fairly well.

Colonel Radec makes it an insta buy if I had a PS3....now if only they had Colonel Templar.

Is Snake still considered basically a Playstation character? Could he possibly make an appearance in both Smash Bro AND (deep breath) PlayStationAll-StarsBattleRoyale?

I hope there's a Parappa the Rapper/Heavy Rain stage.

And also Sonic. And make sure the game is 80 dollars because these are good developers who knows how much money 80 dollars is.

I hope it has a Metal Gear Solid character in it. Like Snake or Ocelot.

MGS4 is still an exclusive, so they'll probably have Old Snake instead.

It seems like it's just Sony characters, so Snake probably wouldn't be allowed. Neither would Crash or Spyro, for that matter, since they're with Activision now.

Hopefully there'll be a few guest characters, though.

I'd imagine Jak & Daxter and Ratchet & Clank will be in the next few teaser trailers. Expect riots if they don't.

The thing is, who else would there be? I mean, when you look at Nintendo franchises there's so very many that would work in this sort of game, but Playstation? There's not a huge number, to be honest. Beyond the already revealed ones and the two I've mentioned, there's Uncharted and... what else?

Also, the name. I suggest Sony Battle Royale. Quicker, easier, better.

Cole from Infamous and Drake will probably be there.

and I think that's it for the modern franchises that Sony has a strangle hold on. I'm guessing there will be a hand full of retro characters and shared characters too. As well as probably 2 or 3 that most of us never heard of that never made it overseas.

How about the Sackboy from LittleBigPlanet?

I think it would be cool if Sackboy is in it you can change his costumes to costumes from other little big planet games
