Episode 3 loads episode 1 (Xbox)

First time I played it, it played fine and i got to the attack. i tried to load it later and whenever i select episode 3 it just starts episode 1 from the start. I don't know if there's anything I can do or if it's been patched and I havn't downloaded it yet?

I'm having the same exact problem. After trying a few times it randomly started episode 3. Now after playing 3 quarters of the way through it happened again. Very aggravating because I don't want to start from the beginning of episode 3 and now it won't even load episode 3. Just starts me all over from episode 1.

i'm sorry you're having the same problem but i'm pleased i'm not alone. hopefully we'll get some guidance soon.

I'm having this exact same problem. It's also auto-saving over my save file and saying I'm in episode 1 now. I can start episode 2 with the save, but trying to start episode 3 doesn't work at all.

For what it's worth, in case this happened to anyone else prior to this, when I finished episode 2, the stats screen froze (not my Xbox though, guide button still worked). I waited on it for a long while but eventually had to turn off my Xbox; don't know if that's related.

For the poor bastards googling their problem only to find this thread without a solution and post here in shared disappointment.

I am having the same issue here.. We make it about 3/4th through walking dead episode 3 and have to leave or do something, then I come back later and load the saved game and it starts episode one, this isn't cool!!! I need a fix before I try and load my saved game again because I can't play it again, I will go crazy!

YO TELLTALE, IT'S BEEN LIKE ELEVEN DAYS OR SUMAT NOW. i just want this thread to be recognised as a legitimate problem by a staff member.

I was able to resolve this, I made a backup copy of my saved game, then opened the original, instead of just hitting continue, I scrolled around and then went to episode 3, and instead of just hitting continue, I selected a chapter from Rewind and that seems to have done it, I was able to complete and finish the game from there.

For some of us, however, we do not have the option to continue or rewind with episode 3 because we are unable to start it at all. Glad you got your issue resolved though.

I'm so angry at this point. The palaver has crossed the line into 'THIS IS SOME SERIOUS BULLSHIT TELL TALE'.

dinoroarr 10/07/2012 10:27 am

this is disgusting.

TridentJax 10/11/2012 09:57 pm

I'm having the same exact issue, too, only I can't load up episode 4. This is so aggravating!
