A bit of promotion, but hear us out here. Ever wanted to see how a character of your own would survive the apocalypse? Want to interact with fellow writers who also have a passionate love for the game/series? Want to write the next great TWD character (A shameless fan plug but we'd love to volunteer characters from our story if TT is listening!)? Then come and join the fun with The Walking Dead Video Game RP, an on-going "episodic" RP.

Starting from shortly after Episode 2 of the game, the story follows the OC's of the authors as they forge their own tale that deviates and coincides with the story of Lee and his group. Do you follow the Mormon missionary Clay and his group into Atlanta? Do you join former CIA agent Armand and his group as they seek to turn "Haven" into a safe place from the outbreak? Will you wander into Savannah to bump into former BBC employee Douglas? Will you stop by the hotel with Ken near the Prison? Do you join the wandering Poe and his group as they seek to survive on the road? Or will you forge your own path with all new characters or cameos from the game you encounter? There are plenty of stories to be told, so let us hear yours.

Eeesh, I'd of loved to join but. .seems way too deep in now and way too complicated to get involved in anything

Well it's not required to know every single detail of the story. That's just there for reference of anyone wants to see what has happened. Anyone is free to jump in when they see an opening. It might even be better to not know the bwckstory so you can learn with your character.

That sounds reassuring .. I dunno maybe.
The whole "you need a well known celebraty" to use as a profile picture for your character is kind of.. offputting however.

Is it? It doesn't have to be someone really famous. It is just an avatar that looks like who you envision your character like. Heck, one of my guys is an actor from the Disney channel. I just chose him because he looked the part. And we have a few singers and sports people too. It is just to give it a sort of movie/show like vibe.

We are also working on streamlining a few things to open the doors to new players, including a potential "starter plot" for them to ease into the main story or break into their own path.

That'd be great. I think i'll wait for that. I really dont want to ruin anyones stories or anything Thanks for the info, keep Me informed

No worries. Feel free to get acquainted with the site. I've made some mods to the site to accustom for new guys, but don't be afraid to get to know people. We love new authors and we are open to people jumping in when they see a good opening (we can make those openings if needed too). This applies to all the new authors as well. And let us know here or on the site if you have questions or concerns.

We will keep everyone updated too. Feel free to engage with the story regardless though :)

Made a good ol' fisherman/mechanic in the heart of Virginia.

Higgsbosom, I PM'd you on the site. You need to follow the character app format on the APPLICATION thread and await approval before your character can be put in SURVIVORS. Once you do that, you can start.

Speaking of which, I will make a "starter plot" for new authors to join in on site tomorrow. Look for a thread titled LILLY'S CAMP where new approved characters can join in and practice before jumping in unless they feel comfortable with an opening in the current story. Let me know what else we can do to help move things along.

Z, you should see what you can do about trying to get this made sticky. Also, glad we're finally getting new people, some of the stories could progress very slowly if someone was gone for an extended period of time.

It looks pretty interesting, but I can't understand how to play those kind of RPs. It is still pretty cool, I'll check it out.

The RP is very basic. All you need to do is create a character (please follow the procedure in the Application thread in Getting Started) and just write paragraphs when your character speaks or replies. No D&D stuff or anything. It's purely a writing based RP.

Also, we are doing a "Starter's Thread" today for new authors to test the RP out. Look for Lilly's Camp thread to post up this afternoon. I will explain more later today for whoever wants to join up.

Also, Haven's a great place to start right now, just saying. :D You can come and go as you want for the most part, but it is getting more restrictive as the plot progresses.
