Ben and the Axe *Episode 3 & 4 Spoilers*

So, I saved Ben. Whilst he screwed up I wasn't keen on making Doug's sacrifice be for nothing. That and frankly we can throw him infront of a zombie horde some other time its more useful if he wants to play martyr. I know I'll probably regret doing so in Episode 5 because "No good deed goes unpunished" but we'll see when I play it tomorrow.

I get that we're supposed to see Ben as a bit of a naive, but well-meaning fool. The whole medicine thing? It was dumb, but I can see why he did it and frankly when you've got a lot of people with guns keeping away for a few bottles I can imagine it didn't seem like such a bad idea.

Leaving Clem? Obviously, bad. Kenny did the same thing with Shawn though. It indirectly got Chuck killed (probably) but fight or flight kicks in differently.

But removing the axe from the door? I'm sorry, but that just seemed too far fetched. Ben makes wrong decisions, but he isn't a total idiot. Last I checked, A LOT of zombies were slamming on that door, I mean you could hear them all about the school. I just find it unbelievable he would really be that thick, I mean I don't think he (or even I) would go anywhere near that door, I pretty much hugged the lockers myself when I had to go past it.

So yeah, making Ben a bit of a tool? Fine, but removing an axe that was obviously barricading it? Took my suspension of disbelief a bit too far.

Also, I'm disappointed there wasn't an option to call Molly out on (indirectly) getting Chuck killed. Do you even find out if she knew you were there? Considering she claims to be able to see the whole city/neighbourhood from there, you'd think so.

Brie and Kenny came through this door, did they not? So, no, there were no walkers while Ben was pulling it out. It was a weapon, a useful thing and it was barricading the door for seemingly nothing... The walkers may have been following Brie and Kenny until they got back inside, so then they opened the door.

Good point. Suppose it begs the question where the hell they went off to.

That scene could have been written better, by making Ben replace the hatchet by a not-so-solid wooden plank the zombies could break.

Crawford's bigger than a couple of hallways. The walkers would probably lose interest some time after they got back(during the medicine part) and wander off to roam the halls. Then Ben happens upon the door looking for a tool for their only (seemingly)safe exit, sees no walkers, wasn't there when they first attacked so he doesn't know they're nearby, and so he takes it. Then the bell(not sure what else) draws the walkers back to the door to bust through.

...He should've guessed it. A hatchet is stuck in a door? Why not take it.
I believe that nobody would do that, People with a brain should know that a hatchet stuck somewhere is there for a reason.

From a writing point of view, Ben and the hatchet is the nadir of the entire season.
