TWD Ep. 4 bug ? Stuck on the shore, no option to whack the newstand open !

Sorry to bug you guys, looks like Telltale's idea of support is just a forum ?
Hopefully someone can help me - I'm currently on the shore, trying to fix the boat, next to the "walkers scarecrows". After being stuck for a while, I found out on some walkthroughs that I'm supposed to whack open the yellow newstand and find a quarter inside.
Except...
I don't have the option displayed (only eye & hand icons when mousing over it) !

I guess I should a spanner tool in my inventory (I can see 2 items, the second one is a bit hard to distinguish), but is there a workaround to be able to continue the game ? This is super frustrating...
