I assume that the Dethemberween toon doesn't take place on Decemberween, but rather, a couple days before, when many of those TV specials air.

Yeah, that's what I think too. Strong Bad probably wouldn't sing about what the Dethemberween Thnikkaman does after he already came.

Could part of what happened in SBCG4AP give Strong Bad a Return Trip to Jail? If that happened, at least Strong Sad was able to finish that model of the Kon Tiki. Either that, or this is a possible continuation of "Strong Bad is in Jail!"
