Putting ink on the Ancient Scroll

So here I am with a Ancient Scroll, however it is completely blank! Whatever is poor Threepwood to do (In other words HELP)?

I don't think you have to present him the map
Instead, give him a good reason to give you the Eye of the Manatee (Decoder)

Yup. Just talk to him, take the right line of questions, and eventually he'll give you it.
