This used to happen to me all the time.
When I thought a package was taking too long to reach me, I used to contact the company I ordered it from to make sure it hadn't gotten lost and I often received the package the next day!
Once or twice, the company would jump the gun and send me another copy, which I then refused the delivery of and would be returned to them.
Now, I'm much more patient and if I still write to a company regarding a late package, I make sure to mention to them that they should not send me another one right away (companies need to be more patient too!
).
