You basically didn't try to threaten Frankie the Rat multiple times. There are such jokes hidden.
I don't also count that as having a sophisticated sense of humor if you don't find those bits funny, fyi. Sam and Max franchise is alive and kicking mainly thanks to its humor and entertainment factor and Telltale has never been put it in disregard. However, it's your loss if you expect an apology or something like that just because they tried to add something more than humor. Even the best comedy series add some stuff to be interesting, artsy, or even just for the sake of doing a different thing. What Telltale has done is just that, and I appreciate. If you can't see those, I'm really sorry, but I just pity.
