I just started experimenting with a style of crochet called "tunisian Crochet" It's almost like knitting with a hook... nice thing about it is that I can take simple cross-stitch patterns and crochet them =D So i've started a childs afghan using left-over yarn and I'm designing it myself using cross-stitch patterns =) It's going to feature alphabet letters with bluebirds and a birdhouse smack dab in the center of the bottom of the pattern

Here's a little preview of how it looks.

This style of crochet curls somewhat at the beginning and end because of how the yarn naturally is drawn to the back of the design... once I stitch the pieces together, and steam block it it should lay fairly flat =D

Note: When I took this picture I had attempted to do the embroidered parts with black yarn, since then I have pulled that all out and have decided to actually get some real embroidery thread =D
