From a marketing perspective, it's a rather stupid idea, especially with the Wii U just being announced as getting a release date this November (although for monetary reasons, I hope they delay the release).
See it in perspective. People for at least a year have been waiting for any information of not one, but
two Super Smash Bros. announcements, one for the Wii U and one for the 3DS. It's a stupid idea to tag something with something that is actually being anticipated.
