Wrong, because that initially organization was initially called the National Negro Committee. And that got changed too. Colored /Coloured for you brits out there is a perfectly fine term. What else you want to call them? African american? Well how do you call a colored person born in the US? African american also? Well then I (Caucasian) would be African american too, we all infact would be. Since all our ancestors are from africa. The whole nitpicking on terms that are clearly as neutral as it can be is ridiculous.

Colored was actually (and Imo still is) used as the politest form of calling someone black. A while back it was Negro, the more formal term, which nowadays many people consider racist too.... Cut us some slack man.
