I'm scared of heights - both being in a high place and looking up at a high ceiling. That place can be a tall building or a stepladder, doesn't matter. I think it's actually losing touch with solid ground that scares me... which is probably part of a larger fear of losing the ability to control my own faculties.
Also spiders that are bigger than a few millimetres.

I also hate wasps, because I was stung by one when I was little, but like you I have no problem with bees. Not because they are stupid, but because they are smart. I actually find them fascinating. They're easily anthropomorphized.
