Same here. I tried to revive Larry, I shot the girl in the street, I got into a fistfight with him on the train, I even told him off a few times. But I also always helped Duck (including putting him down), I helped Kenny face his fears in the attic and I dropped Ben. Apparently this was enough to get the "You've always had my back when it mattered" speech.
It's not Telltale's fault. Your relationship with Kenny is a lot more nuanced than you realize.
