Your "source" says 'point blank'.(1:04). Anyhow I saw it and yea, not very likely to survive a headshot. 90% of people who receive headshots are
immediately dead, the ones that manage to somehow survive wind up with major brain damages and can't live without a lifetime support of others.
So, even if carley would be one of those very rare cases (
she wasn't btw) of surviving with a brain damage, she wouldn't be able to survive at all, let alone in a zombie apocalypse.
