Really? I've found the US healthcare system to be very different from the UK. In the UK the attitude is often more "just wait longer for it to get better" (i.e. "we have scarce resources and your problem is not important enough right now"), whereas in the US I've actually experienced
upsell (i.e. "your insurance pays for this, go nuts!").
