Sorry, but your's is OPINION. I prefer story to gameplay. People have different opinions.
For me, Story>Gameplay>Combat.
Love it's story.
Don't mind about gameplay.
QQQQQQQE is more than enough for a point and click.
You're pretty much saying in this whole thing your opinion and shoving it down our throats.

Stories aren't fun. You don't have "fun" when you watch a movie. You sit down and listen to a story. It's entertainment yes but that's because it's an interesting story. Not because it's fun.
And this isn't my opinion. It's a professional judgement of the game. You prefer story. That's great. But it doesn't change the fact that games need both gameplay and story.

And to be fair the quality of RPGs. shooters and turn based games haven't changed much over the years
Can you say today's worms is anything different then the original or that the modern Call of Duty is different than the original?

I'm talking about the entire genre. Not a specific series. And yes RPGs and shooters have evolved. You had arcade action (Doom) then you had arcade action (Half Life) then you had military shooters (CoD) and then you had Halo (Not sure what to label it).
Plus the RPG games have evolved significantly. You're telling me Final Fantasy is comparable to Persona? Or the Elder Scrolls is comparable to Mass Effect?
And how exactly as TWD changed the point and click genre besides quick time events?
