Honestly, I think it might have been better to have Clem die. Playing through the game, I didn't ever think "Whoa. They mean business. They're taking serious risks." Oh no, the killed of the main character... yeah, and so has every other story that wanted a sad ending. So what?
Oh, but they killed a child. So? We barely knew the kid, and that was still the most emotionally torn up I got.
Oh, they killed your maybe-sort of-almost love interest. Again, so has every other game that wanted a dark story. And they didn't even give you time to feel bad about it. They just rushed you to the next scheduled death
If Clementine died I would have actually thought that Tell Tale was serious about how dark the game was. I still have not cried once through the entire TWD game.
