Wow, one small addition to my post, and WHAM!

I know, it's a shame...

I have beat maniac mansion, S&M season 1, Pajama Sam 3, but I haven't even played monkey island!!!

Talking about these games is fine. It was the request for a free download that caused David to lock the thread.

Shocking as it may seem, I've only played the first Monkey Island game... and I played it on a boat!

I was a big Sierra fan. I didn't even know the LucasArts games existed until 2001 or so...

Thank god I'm not the only one here who didn't get into LucasArts until long after Sierra.

I knew OF them, but the Williams' provided me with the vast majority of my catalog at the time.

...and I still haven't finished any of the MI games.

@ natlinxz
If you're familiar with youtube you also should have heard of ebay. If there doesn't exist a LucasArts compilation in your country then you can get Monkey Island there or on similar marketplaces. If you want to play it on your Mac (under OSX) you further need ScummVM ( http://www.scummvm.org/ ).

Oh and just before i forget, you also can make a donation for their generous tool on their site.

I love this forum and all, but a lot of what the internet is to me (especially rickrolling) seems to be outlawed here!

But, then again, I can definitely see why you wouldn't want people using this forum to pirate software!

Possibly because that joke was played out long ago. Running jokes that go on too long stop being funny and starts being the opposite.

Although, DOTT is my #1 Priority!

Speaking of trying something again, I do wonder what would happen if Telltale attempted to pitch a Monkey Island sequel/series to LucasArts, now that Telltale has established a successful formula, and now that LucasArts has changed management a few times. Just a thought.

On the main subject of "not having played Monkey Island," I waited a while before I tried that one. I never played any of the LucasArts or Sierra adventures when I was a kid, closest thing I played was ToonStruck, and I also liked the Neverhood. When I got into DS homebrew a couple of years ago, I played Day of the Tentacle with scummVM, which was quite fun. I tried a few times to play Monkey Island 1 or 2, but couldn't really get into them, because both have very dry introductions... Eventually I got myself hooked on the first game, and once I beat that I went and played all the rest.

I actually played Monkey Island 2 first. A friend of mine had it (He had already played the first one, we played through the end together)and we played over at his house all the time. Naturally, like the nerds we were we started quoting it all the time, much to the chagrin of the people around us who had no idea what we were talking about. Of course, when we did meet up with someone who knew what we were saying, it's was kinda like meeting up with a mysterious stranger who knew the other half of the password and you instantly knew they were cool to hang out with.

It's a bit of a surreal experience for me to actually be able tell Dave Grossman that "he fights like a cow" on a regular basis.
