Nice! I've always liked Avatar, it'll be interesting to see it in live action.

Isn't this the film that the creator described every plot point in detail on Ubisoft's E3 talk?

No, that was a movie by I think James Cameron, and it is a completely different property than The Last Airbender.

You switched his age. It's 12, not 21.

Not a huge fan of the show (it's a fine show), but I am genuinely excited for this.

The show was pretty cute while it aired, but I wasn't particularly excited about this film. But they did go in a great direction with it stylistically, looks like they're going for the "epic" feel that I got from the series second season finale.

I also like that they went with "The Last Airbender" over a movie with "Avatar" in the title. I suppose it was partially a decision made to stop confusion with the other completely unrelated Avatar movie, but "The Last Airbender" just works well.

Generally I'd say that if I was going to see a martial arts movie, I'd watch an actual martial arts flick rather than the live action adaptation of a cartoon caricature of a martial arts flick. But this looks promising. I might see it.

Weird choice of director, I must say. Why Shyamalan? I'm not a fan of any of his movies. I suppose he's branching out? Where's the twist? =p

Ready for this one? It's a doozy...

It turns out... that he's actually the SECOND-TO-LAST Airbender!

And get this... he doesn't really bend air! He bends girders! And Bruce Willis has to swing away at the killer trees so that he can become a ghost in a village that's not as old as you would think by looking at it! And whatever the twist was in "Lady In The Water"! That one too!

I never payed much attention to the show, even though I liked it. But I'm definitely delighted to see this in live action. I think It'll be interesting.

I watched the first season halfway, got bored with it, and stopped watching it, but this may be pretty good. I've never really been a fan of M. Night Shyamalamadingdong's work, so I'm just going to have to wait for a full trailer for the film.

And remember: If the film sucks, we can always riff it. If the film doesn't suck, we can still always riff it.

EDIT: I just found out that this film has the current world record for Largest Film Set. There is one set in the movie that is the size of an airplane hangar.

He's writing and producing it as well as directing. Clearly this is a labour of love.

It's also clear by the trailer he has the ego the size of a horse. (Yes, we get that Shyamalan is making this film. You don't have to beat us over the head with this info!)

The happening pretty much sucked, maybe hes trying to redeem himself by
making a live action version of a kid show,he should direct Dora:The Movie

But isn't every big hollywood director like that?

i.e. Michael Bay and George Lucas

New bit of news, photos of the main cast have been released:

EDIT: Paramount requested the photos be taken down from the internet, so they aren't displayed anymore.
