yeah, the story was very well done. It's the story itself that i didn't like, or rather, the fact that it was basically a real, modern world story applied to the piratey setting.
There's already a few threads on this subject, so i'm basically repeating myself here, but the basic way to look at the MI world changed in EMI from "straight forward, fantasy but coherent/realistic pirate world with jokes and anachronisms thrown on top" to an actual mix of the real world and the pirate one.
I'm not saying it's wrong as such, but it just doesn't work for me, and i think that's what ruined most of EMI. And even though it's handled better in tales, it does disapoint me a bit, cause it seems telltale has basically adopted the same approach.
But as far as the writing itself is concerned, it's true, it WAS a pretty good story.
