Default Need help on using monkey island with wine

I got ubuntu and I try to start tales of monkey island in wine. The installation went well but nothing happens when I press the game icon after the installation. Anyone who has any idea how to solve it?

Wine? WINE? This is Monkey Island! You should be using grog!

...sorry. Couldn't resist.

I get the game to start and the menu works perfectly but when the intro starts I can only hear the sound and the screen is only black.

It works with wine 1.1.9. I also used "Playonlinux" which has an option to install DirectX.

Wallace and Gromit give the same with an nVidia card. A workaround that works for me is to set Multisampling to enabled and OffscreenRenderingMode to backbuffer in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3D.
