Flesh eating shadows coming from both sides! How will the Doc escape? After a week's wait it's resolved by him using the screwdriver on a trapdoor which just happened to be beneath him.
Actually, you're thinking about something that happened part-way through "The Forest of the Dead", which was the second part of the story in question. It was never a cliffhanger.

Cliffhangers are almost never resolved by the Sonic Screwdriver. The closest examples I can think of are the Sonic Blaster (the "Squareness Gun") which was used to resolve the cliffhanger at the end of "Silence in the Library", and the TARDIS crystal which was rather horribly used to resolve the cliffhanger at the end of "The Age of Steel".

I don't know how the episode was shown where you live, but here that was the cliffhanger for the end of the first library episode.

Really? That bit is halfway through the second episode, or at least it was here in the UK. The cliffhanger to the first episode was resolved by River Song using the squareness gun, if that's what you're thinking of?

Here, a Sonic Screwdriver, will fix it.

I can imagine a scene in a Doctor Who game, where you need to open a locked door to escape an exploding space ship.

"I can't use a sonic screwdriver on that!"

*Looks playfully at the player*

you mean another Doctor who game last i counted there were what 5?6? doctor who games out there some just plain horrible but theres a good platformer out there...

As for the sonic screwdriver it's actually in the series notes that the doctors screwdriver cannot be used to solve a cliffhanger/finish a story this dates back to the 80's when the series producer at the time had it destroyed and never allowed back in the original series due to over use.

I'd bet if they decide to do a doctor who game, it'll be after Sam&Max's new season..but I remember them saying at PAX, that their unsure if they will do it.

The BBC have said they will only give the rights to a UK developer.

(OK, not really)

Default Concerning Doctor Who adaptations

While checking out the newest Zero Punctuation, I ran across a link through The Escapist leading to some videos that made me go "what the heck?!"

they may do doctor who first(if that is in fact what theyre doing) first, instead of doing two huge ip's (monkey island and sam & max) back to back

They've never announced they will do a Dr. Who game. I'm not saying it's impossible, but they haven't announced it officially. Connors has said fans request it often, and it would be interesting for them to try to do but they'd have to crunch numbers to make sure it was worthwhile. Basically, "we'd like to, of course, but no guarantees", and he also stated they'd like to try other IPs, "crazy, risky licenses." It seems like all the newsites are quoting this article when they mention Telltale doing Dr. Who, so it's not at all a definite thing, just to be clear. I'm sure the more interest it generates the more worthwhile it would seem to them, but there is nothing to say that they're even negotiation for the license let alone that they'll announce making the game within the next year.

i realize nothing has been announced, but the job of game forums is to overhype things that arent announced =P although seeing as we're on telltale's forums, its much more visual to the company than most other places. but whatever their new game is, i have a feeling itll be out before sam and max season 3
