How do you distract the Mermaid King? This is so frustrating I've tried EVERYTHING!

Use the fish you've catched earlier with the stew he will be distracted by the smell of it.

This was so obvious how could you missed it?

have you tried to use the monkey with the lid? If you don't have it in your inventory go to the banana tree and use the monkey lure flute.

It should open otherwise you should contact Telltale Support service....

File transfer is still going. They should make USB sticks faster.

You need to use the usb stick with the packet of parrot seed. Then use that with Herman Toothrot and a long and complex cutscene will ensure. You might want to look away if you have a fear of either gambling manatees or yachting dolphins. At the end of it, your usb stick will be replaced in your inventory by the 'super deluxe usb zoom stick 3000'.

Nah that doesn't work. You just use the usb stick with the parrot, and then put it in the computer to read it's mind.

This chapter is like Monkey Island 5 all over again!

How do I get past the exceedingly hairy gorilla? I assume it's something to do with the hair removal cream I stole from Elaine's cabin, but can't figure it out.

Have you found the blunderbuss yet? You need to put the cream in it and then fire it. If you can't do that, you first need to pick some black pepper from the plant by the cave and use it as gunpowder.

Spoilers!

I am Stuck

I have used davy jones pan flute to lure the very confused seahorse out of its
lair
. I went back to the beach and dried the seahorse in the sun on the familiar looking skull. Now i am at the ridiculously wobbly raft and tried to unlock the treasure chest using the seahorse as a key, but the lock is jammed. How can i open the chest?

Man you got it all backwards:
You need to use the treasure chest on the dried seahorse to rip it apart, if you do that you'll get the ruby-red chest key, just examine the seahorse remains
Now for the tricky part, you need to use the mysteriously odorless voodoo potion all over the chest but without using it all. Unfortunately if you miss a spot you'll end in the water due to the smelly gas that will get out of the chest

This and the MI5 thread reminds me of the SQ4 Hint Book in Space Quest IV.
