Default Is it possible to get a refund?

Hello,

I pre-ordered Tales of Monkey Island, 'coz I'm such a big fan, and all. However, after playing through the first, and struggling from start to finish with the horrible control scheme that sucked the entire fun out of the game, while failing to deliver me anything near a "cinematic experience", I really cannot bring myself to play the second part.

I'm sure it's possible to see how many times a particular game has been activated by a user. If it is, you'll see that, while I downloaded the second part, I have yet to activate it.

Don't get me wrong, the jokes were good, the voice acting was superb, the environment was nice, the music was awesome, but the controls... I don't want this game anymore.

Now, usually, if I purchase something and am not happy with it, I can return it. Even at a restaurant, if I order a meal, start eating and then send the almost full plate back because it was unedible, I also get either a refund, or another meal.

And I played through the first part, but I haven't even activated the second part. Can you please delete that game from my account and give me a refund? I don't want it. Direct control in an adventure game makes as much sense as playing an FPS with a steering wheel, or an MMO with a gamepad. It's even worse than playing a platform game with only a mouse.

Thank you.

So you like everything about the game, except that you have to use your left hand to play it?

Not to mention that 90% of the time you don't even have to use the keyboard other than walking to a new screen, since you can click a hotspot that is on screen and Guybrush will walk to it, and not only that, but you can click and hold the mouse to drag him around if you really detest using the keyboard that much.

Excuse me, do you work for Telltale? My question was simple enough: is it possible to get a refund?

I'm not asking about the controls, or trying to get people to talk to me and encourage me to play the game.

It's really getting to me, you fanboys speaking for and defending Telltale as if it's THE bastion of truth & justice on this Earth.

I've played the game. I know how it works. Get a life. Please.

It just seems odd that you're intentionally depriving yourself of a game you apparently enjoy immensely simply because you're too lazy to get used to a control method that isn't 20 years old.

Mein Got... have you, perchance, "happened" to skip the part where I mentioned that the continual struggle with the keyboard sucks out all the fun of the game for me?

Have you "accidentally" skipped over the part where I stated that I have the second part downloaded to my computer, but have not even installed it yet, because I had absolutely NO fun playing that game, no matter how beautifully voiced & soundtracked it was?

Look, this may shatter your world, and I apologize in advance... but you sticking up to Telltale like this does not make you a personal friend of these people, no matter how hard you wish it to be so.

You can't help me with my problem, can you? So why are you teliing me that I SHOULD play the game?

Did you skip over the part where you can play without using the keyboard?

You made it pretty clear that you want to play the game but feel you can't because of the controls, and I'm a villain for trying to tell you that you don't have to use the keyboard 100% of the time?

Assuming you submitted your request via support, your answer will be in an email, not on the forums.

Sorry, Pale Man, I dont think you need to be in this thread. He's asking for a refund, we directed him to support. There's nothing else to discuss here. Let's not make a forum thing out of this please.

I was just attempting to tell him about alternate control methods that might work better for him, I meant well, but I will retreat to the shadows now.

Thank you, Jake. I'm only letting you guys know that I sent the e-mail, I know it has gone through because I got the auto-reply thing, but haven't got an answer yet.

I have contacted Telltale maybe once or twice about minor problems, and had a quick reply, within a couple of hours.

So, not sure if you sent an e-mail already and it hasn't come through? It's not in the spam folder.

Since in these cases you ask us to post in the forums with the issue number, I did.

Agreed on not making a forum thing out of this. I just wanna solve as quickly & quietly as possible and be on my way.

If an e-mail was already sent, and didn't reach me, you guys feel free to contact me via PM, if you want. Or send another e-mail.

Thanks again.

Whoa, this thread exploded after I left the office yesterday evening. Imapus, I'll dig up your ticket when I get to the office. It's possible your ticket was responded to but you did not receive the email for whatever reason, but I'll find out for sure.
