Default Voice of Bugeye

Is it just me, or does it sound like TTG got Denis Leary to be the voice of Bugeye?

They didn't. How do I know? Leary doesn't come cheap, and if Earl Boen wouldn't do Tales, why would Denis Leary?

Bugeye and DeCava are Andrew Chaikin, the Max in Sam and Max Season One Episode One.

Since we're on the topic of voices, was the voice of the lookout in MISE the same person who voice the Grandma in Dr Tran and the toy cack?

No the voice actor who played the lookout in the MISE is Rob Paulsen who also voiced The Shop Keeper, and Raph from The original TMNT Series along with Cam Clarke who voiced Leonardo, and is the voice of meat hook in MISE.

I know people talk about returning characters a lot, but I think it would be great if there was a disgruntled shopkeeper testifying against guybrush. Do we even know what he is being charged with yet?

Jim Carrey hammy overacting can work in the context of visual comedy, but if you look at all the best-written comedy movies (Big Lebowski, Repo Man, Happiness, to name personal faves), the actors play it straight and the writing delivers the funny.

Even on the page, Max worked because of his unflinching expression and blank stare. I never read his voice as bouncy and energetic. His delivery needs to be so much dryer.

The whole time I was playing the game, I couldn't help but feel like Bugeye was Robert Downey Jr. Looks like him, talks like him.

Holy crap, I thought Meathooks voice sounded way off from his Escape version, I kept thinking this can't be the same voice but for some reason the voice is familiar in some way. I haven't spoke to Cam in years!!

I enjoy Max's enthusiasm. He doesn't really ham it up, he just loves life and enjoys what he does.

Anyway I am still really glad to have Kid Beyond (Andrew Chaikin) back in action because he is awesome.

Seconded. He did a tremendous job as Bugeye, I wondered who the VO was, then I got surprised when the credits rolled.

I also like the current Max. I've always thought of Max's voice as needing to sound like he enjoys what he does, is a little bit crazy, uninhibited, sometimes sadistic but not malicious, but also innocent. That's a strange mix but I think William Kasten does it well - in the comparison video I liked it.

Kid Beyond/Andrew Chaikin is also good. Bugeye was a good character and so is DeCava - the voice fit very effectively!

I made a thread in the Sam & Max forum about how he's pretty much the coolest person ever: http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/...ad.php?t=10630

The beatboxing/live looping especially: http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/...17&postcount=4

I thought that Bugeye's voice was pretty much the same as Flint Paper's.
