Default ToMI Steve Purcell Cover Rough Drafts

In their own way, on their own they're very amusing to look at and have a nice whimsical feel about them. I really like how "close" the the third one is, but the fact that the monkey isn't smoking a pipe kind of kills it for me.

Anyway, it's a bit of very interesting pre-production background info.

Interesting! I like the first one which eventually became the actual one though. I think he definitely hit the nail on the head with that concept and it's poses.

And now I want a line of Monkey Island 'children's' books 8U

I would make it required reading for all my offspring. And their offpsring. And THEIR offspring. They shall become cherished family heirlooms/coda!

Unfortunately, we're having none of that =/

Number 2 is cute, but maybe a little too wacky.

As much as I like the artwork, after Episode 3, looking at the artwork again it feels too empty to represent the game, again just my opinion, but it would of been interesting if Morgen was on there, or De Cava, and Murray (his drawing of Murray for the Chapter screen was very good!).

Again, my opinion might change over the next few months, I just feel like Elaine hasn't really had much of an impact on the story, there are little hints that she might become bigger later on, but so far she's felt like a background character where as characters like Morgen and De Cava have really shined, even before episode 3, De Cava was surrounded with mystery, with that skeleton on the beach and his shack on Roe Island, etc. As for Morgen, first just some annoying Fan Girl but she's really came into her own in Episode 3 too (Speaking of which, I wonder if Yahtzee will review Tales again after playing all five instead of basing it all on two episodes) and she got major points for that Love speech she gave to Guybrush, getting soo close to him and she was looking soo happy and then BAM, Guybrush managed to just break her by bringing Elaine into the conversation, made me feel sort of sorry for her and yet still laugh.

Number 2 is very cute, I like it.
But I think they went with the most suitable one.

At least LeChuck could've been on the actual cover, too, I guess. As for the others, including Murray would've been too much of a spoiler, but de Cava and Morgan would've fit, too, I think.
