Default Broken Sword GBA?

I keep seeing a remake of Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars (for Gameboy Advance) for really cheap in the "bargain bin" at game stores. I'm very tempted to buy it, but I've never actually played a broken sword game, so would this be a good place to start?

I haven't tried the GBA version, but I'm sure you'll be better off with the PC version.

No, not worth it in the slightest.

I'd recommend picking up the Wii version of the game (it's the director's cut, with new puzzles and locations), if you've got a Wii, you should be able to pick it up for around $20-$30 US. (There's a DS version of it as well, but I imagine it'd be rather difficult to play on such a small screen.)

If not, go for the good old PC version, you can grab it for £4.88 at this site, and it includes the second game too.

I had a quick go at the gba one a while back, it wasn't great. The graphics were a bit meh.

I'm still debating whether or not I should download the remake for DS. Everyone here seems to think it's really good, and that broken sword 3 was the emi of the series.

The remake is great, but if you have a Wii, I'd go for the Wii version instead.

I don't have a Wii. Wii games cost money.

I picked up Broken Sword Director's Cut for Wii on ebay a few months back for only $23.99 (that's including shipping) so it's not that expensive.

My mom loves Broken Sword and she enjoyed the DS director's cut but said some things were actually missing from the game. I've never played it myself so I'm not sure what.

I heard the Advance version was not that great. I'd go with the directors cut on either the DS or the Wii, preferably the Wii since it has voice overs.

The Advance version is fine for what it is. There are no animated cutscenes, but character animations, artwork and music remain intact. If you have no other way of buying it get it.

If you can get it for PC, do that instead.

Don't forget, though, that the GBA version contained several bugs including one that made the game uncompletable.

Well I don't like pirating games, and since the PC version is probably hard to find, I'll get the GBA version for $4.00. If I like the game, I'll buy the Wii version.

It's not hard to find at all. Sold Out Software has been selling it for years.

I would get it for PC if I was to play it for the first time.

But I have to say I was glad to bring the GBA with Broken Sword to the beach a couple of summers ago.

Here's a list of those pesky game-breaking bugs:

Cannot get to Syria

If you are stuck in the game and cannot get to the Syria section it is because you have hit a nasty bug which occurs if you play the game in a certain order. To avoid this bug you need to get the Marib clue from the Montfaucon sewers before going to Spain.

Game effectively crashes on the Goat Screen in Ireland

We believe this bug is caused when the game is saved in the pub cellar then subsequently restored. Please DO NOT save the game on the cellar screen.

Save Game not working in Ireland

Avoid saving the game on the Pub Cellar screen.

Can't interact with the Cat in Syria

Avoid saving the game on the Syria Market screen.
