Default Voodoo lady HAS lied to Guybrush

In MI3 she says how she helped beat LeChuck in the past 2 games prepering the root and voodoo doll but she lied because she never did any of thoes things and its not a error cos in monkey island 2 she lies about her importance as well so in chap 4 when she says she has never lied to Guybrush thats not true

Well, after chapter 4's plot twist thing and her saying "I never lied" she might not have exactly lied at all about her being the one that got rid of LeChuck in Secret since apparently she's been manipulating everything.

I get the distinct feeling that LeChuck was lying when he implicated the Voodoo Lady. When I think about it, it seemed like his endgame was to use La Esponja Grande to suck up all the pox, and steal it for himself, and he couldn't do that if Guybrush was in jail. So, he creates a story about the Voodoo Lady being the driving force behind him becoming all poxy, forcing the Voodoo Lady to reveal how to make the sponge work, and thus executing his master plan.

Possible, but that still doesn't explain why the Voodoo Lady would want Stan to defend both (!) of them in court. Also, why does she keep speaking in riddles to Guybrush instead of saying: "LeChuck's lying about me being the villain"? Also, there's this one moment when Guybrush asks her to plainly tell him where he can find the "sixth sense" for the feast and she replies: "I would tell you. But the walls have ears." Fear of LeChuck?

If you remember, she also lied in MI2 about that same thing, but it was clear from the context that she did it explicitly to protect Guybrush to keep Largo/Lechuck minions from resurrecting him as a zombie. Obviously Guybrush dropped the ball on that one, but the point is when she has lied in the past, it has been for benevolent reasons.

It was something of a running gag that in each game she would "exaggerate" her importance in the previous game.

Here's how I think it went down:

When LeChuck says that the Voodoo Lady has manipulated things, he's not lying. She openly admits this. However, I don't think that it's a bad thing. She does say that she's just a player in a bigger thingmabob (or something to that effect) and I feel that she's pretty much like Dr. Manhattan in Watchmen in that she can see through time and she's not good or bad, but she does play a part in what happens. So basically what I'm trying to say is that people are making a mistake when they automatically assume that lying makes her some sort of villain.

Well in MI2 when you tell her LeChuck's back, she tells you to get Big Whoop to escape him. Then in MI3 when you mention Big Whoop she mentions it's pure evil and you were lucky to escape it. I know was designer gaps between 2 and 3's story with Ron leaving, but she completely changes her story in 3 and you could take it as a warning sign not to trust everything she says.

The main thing I disliked about this chapter is that Telltale scripted things so tightly that you didn't feel you had control over the game anymore. When Guybrush was going around calling LeChuck buddy I knew LeChuck was lying and wanted Guybrush to say something different.

Then it became really obvious when LeChuck claimed the Voodoo lady was especially responsible for the mountain of ice in the carnival of the damned, but Guybrush continued to talk to LeChuck like he was a friend.

Fealiks. Do you think the Voodoo lady would intentionally help an evil person or harm a good person? But she would do the reverse and help a good person. I don't think she's completely neutral and above everything I think she just has a deeper voodoo understanding of things where she sees good and evil as part of nature, and that these things have to run their course. Remember when the Voodoo lady says to LeChuck that good things were never in his future? She knew LeChuck was going to do harm whether or not he had voodoo powers, so she's using him to an end.

I always was confused in MI3 when the Voodoo Lady yelled at us for going to get Big Whoop when she was the one who TOLD us to go get it.

Still, she gave good advise for first time home buyers in MI3. If she was evil, she would have told us to get a loan we couldn't pay for. I wounder how many loans LeChuck has...
