Full Throttle had a brilliant soundtrack! Gone Jackals - what a band! Too bad they weren't around for longer : ( But there's also plenty of other great music in the game that isn't by Gone Jackals.

All Sierra soundtracks by Mark Seibert, Ken Allen, and Chris Brayman are sublime.

You know, I have to agree. Sometimes I'll catch my self whispering the kings quest theme.

The best game-soundtrack ever?
Sam & Max Season 1.

Close second place: World of Goo

The Silent Hill series is my all-time favorite. Mainly the vocal tracks, although the ambient pieces are great as well.

In close second comes anything by Bobby Prince or Lee Jackson. The "Rise of the Triad" soundtrack in particular is a masterpiece of early MIDI.

I don't know if any of them worked on the Shivers score, but the music in that game is incredibly atmospheric. I still remember most of the tunes despite it being years since I've heard them.

No, I don't think any of those three made the soundtrack for Shivers, but I've heard that the music in that game was really good. I haven't played through them yet, however. Will have to do that sometime.

Also, yes. The Bobby Prince and Lee Jackson scores are incredible. I prefer Bobby Prince for the most part, though I think. But Lee did make some amazing soundtracks as well. Also, the Metroid series soundtracks are quite good. Metroid Metal anyone?

Varia Suite, please. Sponsors for the site also have access to the newest remix track, the ending music for Super Metroid (everyone else should be able to grab it sometime around/after this weekend).

The new indie adventure game Machinarium actually has a really good, kinda weird mellow electronica soundtrack.

Nobuo Uematsu, Jared Emerson-Johnson and Peter McConnell. There are a lot of great composers who work in games, but their work I listen to over and over again. Especially Uematsu since my mom always plays the "battle music" from FFVII when she's driving.

I personally am in love with the soundtracks from the Starfox series (I wonder why...) and pretty much any valve game. No way you can hate this. It is impossible.

I'm more of specific songs from series, for example, Corneria from Star Fox, Mona Pizza Song from the WarioWare series, Faye Wong's Eyes On Me from Final Fantasy VIII (both versions, spoilers), both songs from Final Fantasy X-2, Rainbow Road from the original Super Mario Kart, mostly too much to name. But the Kingdom Hearts series does have a lot of cool songs.
