So I'm at the final battle with LeChuck but didn't get the keys on the first try. Now at the part where you can lift the broken door but nothing is happening, don't know how to get LeChuck to beat me up again...

Well get the keys- they open something. Something might work well with the broken door.

You need to get the keys. Just wait and LeChuck will kick your butt again a couple times. In order to get the keys you need to tell Elaine to attack LeChuck while on the screen with the locked door. You'll then have to go back to that screen (getting a few hits from LeChuck) to use the keys on the locked door. The broken door's use should then be clearer to you.

Now on to my own issue

I built the see-saw and know how to get fired from the canon but that sail is in the way. And the hints from the autohints system are not helping (I already *know* I need to rip it up or something, Guybrush just repeats me the sail is the problem). I feel like I've tried all of my items already and LeChuck is just hitting me back up to the crow's nest and dropping me back down to the deck. I've tried using the hook on rope in the crow's nest and all that does is I'm on the platform next to the sail and none of my items are working. I can't see any missing items on these three screens I have available to me. What am I missing?

LeChuck attacks you after a few seconds, but maybe not when you're holding the door. The door is useless until after you use the key.

Does anyone know what to do after making the see-saw and ripping the sails? I asked Elaine to lit the cannon, and I try to use the see-saw, but LeChuck keeps jumping elsewhere and punches me back up to the crows nest.

Gah, I was hoping not to have to ask, but I'm totally stuck right at the end. I've built the see-saw but I can't get Guybrush to step on it and get launched into the cannon. He just makes a joke about a see-saw at sea and then LeChuck drops and punches him back into the crow's nest.

Edit: Wow, looks like someone beat me to asking while I was looking around and typing my post.

You need to use the hook on the rope in the crow's nest. This takes you to a useless area, but once you get knocked down, LeChuck will be above you, so if you tell Elaine to light the cannon and then get into position by using the see-saw, LeChuck will jump down from above. Pretty tricky puzzle.

To get Guybrush where you want@
Get knocked back into the crows Nest, then use the Hook on the rope to slide down to the perch, then wait til LeChuck pushes you off, landing on the see saw

Happened to me too, LeChuck just stopped appearing for some reason. A bug perhaps? However, saving and loading the game solved the issue.

Jesus... I keep getting my butt kicked. I've unlocked the locked cabinet with the keys but now I'm just a punching bag. I can't do anything with the heavy door. Should I try lifting it more?

edit: oh, got it

edit2: aaaand DONE

Great game. The 5th one was the easiest so far. I only needed help with the seesaw.

I didn't have to go back to a previous save, I just saved and loaded when the problem occurred and was promptly rewarded with a huge demon pirate fist to the face. Quite a relief.

I have the same problem. I made the see-saw, I told Elaine to light the cannon, I clicked on the broken door and Guybrush makes a joke about it instead of stepping onto it, and Le Chuck punches Guybrush. If I don't tell Elaine to light the cannon, Guybrush steps onto the see-saw and gets to the cannon fine, but there's no cannon fire.

Oh. Figured it out. Looks like somebody already answered this question, and I read it, but didn't realize it was the solution.

I've finished the game already but replaying it I end up at the same point with the same problem: after ripping the sail and telling Elaine to light the cannon, I cannot get Guybrush to get onto the see-saw, instead he's just making that joke. Next thing you know LeChuck's punching him to the crow's nest again.

You know, the important thing here is where LeChuck jumps from. Considering the fact that he follows you wherever you land on, it's kinda easy to get him wherever you want.

Not a bug, but a clever trick.

Mermaid, have you made sure to only talk to Elaine once or twice before stepping onto the see-saw? These puzzles are "timed" in a way.

I have another problem, I get Guybrush shot onto the other side and LeChuck follows him but Elaine can't get into the crow's nest in time to slice LeChuck. Do I have to distract LeChuck somehow or make it easier for Elaine to get up there in time? I'd really appreciate some help here. I feel terrible watching Guybrush get turned into LeChuck's punching bag ...

You mean you're in the land of the dead? Well, tough break, she can't do it in time. I think you just have to "give up".
Isn't the rip too big? Even a brute like LeChuck can pass through...

I already tried to "give up" by using my shred of life on the rip after LeChuck got through, but nothing happened. How do I give up my last shred of life?

Umm..

Use, Shred of life, use with, rip (if it's no use, try using it on LeChuck himself). That's how I did it.
