The Purcell art is for the pre-order slip case only.

It won't be the DVD box art.

I ask for subtitles on all the DVD extras.
My 2 cents.

Here's the blog post about the pre-order deal.

Notice the asterisk text at the bottom:

Quote:
Season customers who order after July 7 will still be eligible for the DVD, but only pre-order customers will receive the limited edition cover. Shipping will be charged when you come back to order the Collector's DVD.

Great, there had to be misinformation involved. Steve Purcell says that he worked on the art for the DVD's slipcase, which doesn't mean that the DVD's cover needs to be different.

Basically, the whole deal was always publicized as whoever preordered would get an exclusive slipcase with their Collector's DVD.

I really hope Telltale avoids sticking non-preordered versions of the DVD with a bad cover. That would really piss some fans.

Yeah, especially those (like myself) Who opted for the wii version to begin with. I got the wii version at launch (half an hour after launch to be exact), and i had already bought and uploaded my points by that time, so it was as close to a pre-order as possible. I know that i won't get the same stuff as the PC Pre-orderers, which i accept, but considering that we payed more than them, we expect at least some quality cover.

I think the Cover art was cool for the pre-order but not really enough to make me jump right on it.... I didn't Pre-order... I would much rather buy the signed poster for that art.

Ouch... Isn't the different covers between Wii and PC versions due to the different publishers?

I'd have preordered if I'd known in time I only found out TMI was already ready to be published (ch.1 at least) when I saw the announcement on the Wii Shop.

The wii version isn't getting a disc release. The other box art is the image displayed for the PC box art, whilst the Blue, at sea version is the limited edition Steven Purcell box art.

I wouldn't count a Wii disc out, but I wouldn't count on it either. But if there is one you can count on having to re-buy it if you want it.

The slipcase will go over whatever design the standard DVD case has. Why would anyone care about a slipcase that has the exact same art as what's underneath it?

The Purcell art only goes to pre-orders. Everyone else will get whatever the standard art is.

And, the pre-order deal was to get exclusive Purcell art. The fact that it's on a slipcase is irrelevant.

Why would you care that only the pre-orders get the exclusive art? You pre-ordered? Is that it? Good for you.

Hey, I was just trying to set you straight about who gets what art. You don't have to be a jerk about it.

But, whatever, I'm done.

Sorry dude, I never meant to sound like a jerk. Got that same feeling from you. :\

Just saying that there was a bit of misinformation about that, and that Telltales would be giving a disservice to the Collector's DVD by giving it a bad cover.

Just because it won't be the same cover doesn't mean it will be a bad cover.
But think about it. If they say "preorder and you'll get Purcell's cover" and then they give it to everyone, some people who preordered might feel cheated.
I wouldn't, because I still got a free episode out of it, but I can understand why some people might.
If it was one of the preordering bonuses, it's just not possible to make it something everyone gets.

Now, I don't know if the bonus is a slipcase or cover art. But if it's a different cover art, I'm sure the regular edition will look good too.

Nah.... The only difference between the two "editions" is that the
Regular Edition's has a great cover while the other cover is just awesome

Arrrrrr, the "preorder-advantage-slipcover-thingie" makes absolutely no sense, when both edition would have the same cover anyway.

Yes, i pre-ordered. :-D

The special pre-order edition will have a different cover.
The Regular Edition's has a great cover while the other cover is just awesome
