Default MacHeist: ToMI for $20 (perhaps)

Mac heads, here's your chance to pick up ToMI cheap (along with some other stuff). Here's the blurb:
Quote:
As a Mac user, you're used to being treated great by your software. You love the apps your Mac shipped with, and you've heard of some amazing indie apps, and you're intrigued. But you have no idea where to begin.

This is where we come in. We've assembled a collection of some of the indie community's greatest apps, over $260 worth, and packaged it all together for you at an impulse price of just $19.95.

Enrich your software life, save a ton of money, help brighten the world, and make your Mac happy all in one fell swoop. Great apps, gigantic value, all available for a truly miniature price.
The catch? You only get ToMI if they sell 50,000 copies. Oh, and no hard copy either. And the offer ends in 6 days. The good news is that they're almost half way to that goal. Here's the site. Oh, and $5 from each transaction goes to a charity (you get to choose which specific charity from a list of 11).

Actually, the macheist deal is that you get a gift code to use on our website, giving you the season free. Which means that since you officially "buy" it through us (using the gift code), you actually WOULD get the season dvd.

Hey, wouldn't that technically mean that you'd get both PC and Mac versions of the program(due to getting them both when you purchase a season), effectively making it a $20 Monkey Island season for PC users as well?

The first one was a minor change from coupon to gift code. Slight difference, but important enough to change. The second was because I went from 90% sure to 100% sure.

No. They're making either 0 codes, or 50,000+n codes, where "n" is the number of sales that are made beyond 50,000 during the promotion period.

I've already bought the MacHeist bundle. Even though I don't have Tales of Monkey Island yet, I'm already enjoying some of the other apps that came with it, like Clips, Flow, and RipIt. It's a good deal, and I hope they sell 50,000 copies.

It looks as though Tales of Monkey Island got unlocked early.
Now, it's RapidWeaver that will be unlocked when 50000 bundles are sold.

Yup, just unlocked my copy, not sure why it was unlocked early though *shrug* though I'm liking some of the other software bundle in like Flow.

Woohoo!

My copy of ToMI just unlocked. Awesome! I'm extremely excited. I love these sorts of games. Two questions:

1. Is there any way to use my pass/serial to download the game on Steam?

2. What is this talk of getting a DVD?

Thanks!

1)If its a code for the Telltale store, then I'm 99% sure you can't.

2)The DVD has the game as well as a lot of super duper extra features. It's currently still being made, but once it's done (In a few months or so. These things take time.) you can get it for just the cost of shipping from the Telltale store. If you had got it on Steam, then you would have to pay the full price of the DVD.

It is indeed a gift code for the Telltale store so, DJLanglois, I guess you won't be able to get it on Steam.

Ah, that's cool. Thanks for letting me know.

When I purchased Empire: Total War a few months ago, I realized when I got home that I could install/download the game through Steam, using my serial number. I was shocked, but extremely pleasantly surprised. I was just hoping that the phenomenon was more widespread. Oh well.

I'm excited about the DVD. That's pretty cool news.

I got it through the Macheist deal, but it doesn't work on my 2ghz 2gb ram black Macbook. Even on the lowest resolution and lowest quality, it's just very choppy, and the audio and subtext can't sync with the video, and trying to move Guybrush is an exercise in futility because it's just so slow. Anyone with a Macbook of this setup, don't get the bundle because of the game.

It would probably be helpful to post the system requirements somewhere. I see them for Windows, but not for Mac.

I feel very foolish for having just spent 35 bucks on March 7th, when I could have had the season plus extras for only 20 bucks. I mean, I like supporting TellTale, so it's not like I feel cheated. I just feel stupid for not checking the forums more closely and being fiscally smarter.

Congrats to everyone who actually read up and got this deal. :-)
