I hadn't thought of that. That's good.

I remember laughing at it at first because it was just so sick. That was something the Joker would've done.

So LeChuck put a different spell on his own father so that Guybrush would see the skeletton and have a gut feeling of "it's my father", without questioning it. He could have done that by previously causing Guybrush's hallucination, and make that skeleton appear in the sequence as being GB's dad so he would recognise him.
Or all of that could actually be caused by the voodoo lady, of course. She's the one who manipulated things.

In the end, though, the point is that it's easier for GB to be taken under the spell of "I'm a kid and LeChuck is my brother" is, possibly unconsciously, he already has the impression that LeChuck is his brother.

Later on, when he's not under the spell anymore, that part vanishes from his mind just like the rest of the hallucination. Easier for the voodoo lady to cover her tracks if GB doesn't remember all of the things he can tie to her.

I would rather like to think that the whole story from CMI, EMI and TMI is just Guybrush hallucinating

-.-

I smell another Ron Gilbert Fanboy/girl.

Really, I don't understand such a response. CMI and ToMI are wonderful.

Far from that. Personally I think Ron skillfully uses the hype created around the Secret to remain in the spotlight for almost 20 years now.

Curse, Escape and Tales are all great adventure games in their own way, each with its own virtues and flaws. I just don't really like cartoony, goofy course (with the less subtle humour) that CMI had taken and the rest just followed.

I think that every game in the series has been incredible, each with unique elements that make it memorable in its own way. While Escape is my least favorite, I think Mike still did a great job with the game. Great voice acting, environments, dialogue, and humor. There are many moments where I still laugh a lot, much more than Secret, Revenge, and Curse. I also thought the story was structured much better as it was more of a mystery with all these seemingly unrelated plot points actually all being connected by one insidious plot by LeChuck and Ozzie, very similar to how TMI did the story.

It does have it's problems though; story gets a little too wacky sometimes, the character models except LeChuck and Ozzie weren't that impressive, and I think Guybrush got way too much verbal abuse from pretty much everyone, even a figurehead. In the end though, I loved it and thought it really brought some new and fresh concepts to the series.

I'm confused however, why people who loved the first two games and hate Curse and Escape due to it not being made by Ron hate TMI, especially since Ron had a huge help in it. It was by far the most epic one with real sword fights (no insult sword fighting), ship battles, and emotion. By far my favorite in the series. I think people have to keep an open mind and realize that just because Ron intended to make a third game does not mean it would've as good as the first two. The secret could turn out to be something you didn't want it to be. I think it all worked out pretty well as now we have five games with two of them being remade into faithful remakes.
