I'm not sure if that's sarcasm or not, because it really did seem like the most obvious choice for what's going on. The flashbacks from the start pointed out that many of the people on the original flight who ended up on the island all did something extraordinary in their life that they shouldn't have been able to (Jack miraculously healing a paralyzed woman, Hugo using the magical numbers), some had dark pasts so that the island could be seen as their punishment (Kate, Sayid, Sawyer), others were just plain desparate/disturbed (Claire, Charlie, Locke). These miracles/extreme situations ended up taking these people into a magical place between heaven and h... I mean life and death. It seemed too obvious that I refused to believe it could be that simple. The Widmore / Others / Dharma storylines seemed to take the story to a different direction and I was very happy, but suddenly with Season 6 this seems like some religious propaganda.
Jacob is God, the Smoke is the Devil. Seriously? And they said they probably won't even explain the numbers. Give me a break. I feel like I've been cheated somehow. Currently, the good guys, Hugo, Jack, Sun & Jin etc. who didn't do bad things in their previous life are with God (in addition to Judas, I'm sorry I meant Ben), and the bad guys, Sawyer, Kate, Sayid and the insane, Claire, Locke (well okay he's dead but still), are with the evil smoke thing whose name can't be mentioned. And who goes by many names. And who is evil.
I will watch this to the end since there isn't that much left, but I'm hugely disappointed at the series right now. I hope I'm horribly wrong with where this is going.
