Season 2 DVD on backorder?

So, I ordered my Season 2 DVD in the beginning of August (somewhere around there). The page for the DVD says it is expected to be released in August. My order says that it is back ordered. So, did it just not come out yet?

It seems most likely to me that the softcover of Surfin' the Highway is on backorder.

I just tried putting one into the shopping cart in the store. It didn't say anything about backorder.

They don't tell you in the cart, or at least I don't think they do. They inform you after you make the order, normally. Through an e-mail like the one you got.

I checked the order conformation email. It doesn't say anything about being on backorder.

Our warehouse is still working their way through the high volume of orders that were placed when the DVD was added to the store in July. They haven't gotten to the orders from August 4 yet. As such, we're considering the DVD to be a special case -- it's not "in stock" yet, but still considered to be on preorder / backorder until all of the initial orders have been fulfilled.

We do tell you in the cart when an item is backordered, and it says on the store pages where the disc can be ordered that it's in preorder status with an expected ship date of sometime in August. Don't worry, your order will ship when they get to it in the line!

So, my order was submitted to the warehouse about 4 (or 3) days ago. I've had the message "Your order has been submitted to our warehouse and will ship soon. Please check back later for shipping info." for those 3 or 4 days. Should it have shipped by now?

The message will change to "your order has shipped" once it has shipped. It may go out this week, but don't quote me on that... I've been out of town a few days and am not sure where they're at with this stuff.

Normally it only takes a few days between when we submit the order to them and when they ship it, but for now any order that includes a Season Two DVD, case file, or poster print is taking longer due to the high order volume. We're sending the orders over to them when they're ready to start fulfilling them, but due to the high number of orders it's taking a little while to get them all fulfilled.

Oh, another thing. Is there a certain time of day the status changes? (Like when the mail gets picked up?) Or when the order is filled?

It happens when our warehouse sends over the status for the day, which is in theory supposed to happen at the end of the business day, but in practice usually happens at random times.

Yay, it came today. But guess what! My order page still says it departed to the warehouse. O.o Weird.

Oh, where are those "Alternate Reveals" for 205?

The case files haven't started shipping yet, that's what's holding up the order. As we state in the store, they're expected to start shipping sometime in September (possibly even next week!)

Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures Collector's DVD
Sam & Max Season Two Collector's DVD

Both are on back order... I know I can download them and play but I am actually more interested in the DVD extras so when can I expect the stuff to be sent?

Hey Irishmile, we had to re-order more copies of the Season Two DVD; we're expecting them to ship out from our fulfillment center some time next week.
