I distinctly remember reading somewhere it was indeed due to budget reasons, as well as other factors.

i dont think anyone needs to worry,im sure they'll bring out the Soundtrack eventually,Telltales do read the posts and take these things in account, and plus a Soundtrack CD is more likely to happen then a talking Pyrite parrot, but if they do bring a guybrush figurine and Soundtrack before free shipping date ends, then id love that alot...otherwise ill have to wait for another offer like that, cause i still need to get the Mug and tshirt and poster, and badges...got the other goodies on order

If they where to put the soundtracks from the game on a cd, they will have to re-do them a little, most of the tracks are only about 1:30 mins long and are just repeated in the game. So they would need to extend them, with some nice attachments to them.

But in any case I would buy it no matter what, the intro track is just awesome

That's typically what happens in a standard video game soundtrack CD. Since most tracks in a game are designed to loop, an album typically plays the tracks, loops each as normal once, then loops again and immediately starts to fade out. Obviously, for tracks with a defined ending, this is unnecessary.

At Quest Studios, Tom actually adds endings to songs that don't have any for the Sierra soundtrack CDs.

Most of the "stingers" work VERY well to give proper endings to tracks that are designed to loop. It doesn't cover every cue, obviously, but it wraps up many of them nicely.
