Papierwaite is definitely evil but I think that he is being forced to do Norrington's work for him. Norrington has brought back Papierwaite as his younger self to help him.

Remember they had control over their souls and the souls have always been trying to break free bet never could gain control. When they died their souls broke free but when they where revived and used the device to return their souls back, the souls are trapped again and have no control.
But then again your right a game where a dog and physcic rabbit save the world from space gorillas isnt a game to overthink.

Did you know...

China and Japan use same alphabets called Kanji. But pronunciations are different. Also Japan uses two more alphabets, Hiragana and Katakana.

The Chinese writing system is not called Kanji. It's called Hanzi. It's a small difference, but I believe a lot of Chinese really don't like having their stuff confused with Japanese stuff.

And I came up with a long and involved description of how the souls thing in 203 made any sense, but I was just messing around at the time.
