At least I think it's still act 1. I got out of Stinky's, went to BoscoTech and the Museum, but that's about it.

I'm not sure what I have to do. I already tried the seance, but Max says he isn't psychically prepared and I should try later. I met Dr. Norrington and got the scroll. I got to the part where Girl Stinky says Sam is Mr. S, but the only thing I got after that was the name of the cake (from Grandpa Stinky's mind). Any hints on what I should do next?

Also, how do you do object highlighting on the PC?

Paiperwaite "misplaced" Sal's resignation which had a phone number on...
Have you checked the trash can just outside his office?

Going to see Sal gives you the tool to "win" the seance and make the cake.

I was thinking that. But I cant ind Sal or his resignation letter.

I already put Bosco's DNA in the cooker, and I need more DNA. Now what?

Who would know about the dark dimension?
Perhaps if you ask Papierwaite
You need the Cthonic Destroyer
Get the illuminated sheet from Norrington
You need to finish the seance first
What can you use to cross dimensions?
Use the dimensionator in Mama Bosco's Lab
Do any of the signs when Sam returns look familiar?
Perhaps you can match them to something in your inventory?
The illuminated sheet shows the signs Sam needs to show
Does adjusting the controls change anything?
Have you read Sam's mind when he returns?
Have you viewed Sam's future when he returns?
Experiment with the controls - each controls a sign
Adjust the controls to match the illuminated sheet and Sam will return with the Cthonic destroyer

Use future vision on it for a hint, the rest you can work out

Try asking around
Speak to Sal at the docks
So who would know Grandpa Stinky's favourite type of cake
Maybe somebody at the diner
Well, Grandpa Stinky does but he won't say
If only you could read his mind...
So now you can ask Sal to bake the cake
But you only get a drawing...
If only we could somehow bring drawings to life
Use rhinoplasty on the cake drawing and then turn into a cake at the diner

EDIT: Anyway, can you tell me how to get up to the control center?

The control centre is a complex-ish puzzle:
Once Stinky and Sal are down in there view the control station. While viewing it shoot the light. This sends Sal across and opens the side.
Now you can shoot the mug to send Stinky over.
Stinky has a cell phone that you can teleport too...
